TRADES: 13
BALANCE: $276 600

DEF: Goddard, Deledio, Shaw, Suckling, Waters, Heppell, Hargrave (Clarke, Ellis)
MIDS: Swan, Thompson, J. Selwood, Hayes, Horsely, McDonald (Greene, Magner)
RUCKS: Cox, Giles (Stephenson, Redden)
FOR: Franklin, Sidebottom, Beams, Robinson, Martin, Treloar, Zorko (Smith, Cameron)

TRADE PLAN
This week: Greene -> Stevie J (using new trade rule)
Round 11: No trades, copping 3 doughnuts
Round 12: Clarke -> Darley & Magner -> Boyd, copping 1 doughnut
Round 13: Ellis -> Lake/Broughton, copping 2 doughnut

Your thoughts?

Maybe McDonald -> Ablett in round 11, then upgrade Horsely or Hayes in round 13..?

Making 3 trades during will make sure you cop more than the amount of dounts you have said.

I can count at least 7 donuts on that strategy...

3 rd 11, 2 rd 12 and 2 rd 13.

I did miss one, brings me to 6... Where's the 2 in round 12?

No worries thanks for pointing out there was an error in the first place. Now I think I'll definately do the McDonald -> Ablett trade and Horsely -> Pendlebury/Stanton trade. Unless I'm up against a spud in eliminator :P

So Assuming you haven't traded this week yet?

(now) Round 10: Greene (out)  - Rnd 13 premium (in)  + Magner (out) - Sexton (in)

(pre) Round 11: DSmith (out) - Rnd 12 premium (in)

ROUND 11: Donuts  DEF: 0  MID: 0 FWD: 1

(pre) Round 12: Clarke (out) - round 11 rook (in)

ROUND 12: Donuts DEF: 0 MID: 0 FWD: 1

(pre) Round 13: Horsley (out) - Round 11 or 12 Premium (in) + Ellis (out) - round 11 or 12 rook (in) + Sexton (out) - Round 11 or 12 premium or rook in FWD or MID

ROUND 13: Donuts DEF: 1 MID: 0 FWD: 1

That would leave you with 4 donuts over the byes, 2 more than is the minimum but not bad.

The trade of Sexton in round 13 in BOLD is a WASTE and only achieves avoiding a donut.

All the other trades are trades of use, that you would make anyway to downgrade upgrade ready rooks.

You could avoid 2 extra donuts and achieve the minimum of 2 - but to do so you would have to trade out 2 round 11 rooks now and at start of round 11 to round 12 or 13 rooks, THEN trade both those rooks out again pre round 12 or 13 respectively.

So you would use 4 more trades to achieve 2 less donuts.

Me I would do what i said above but I would cop the extra round 13 donut and wouldn't bother trading Sexton out before he maxes out in round 13.

Good Luck.

Andrew

Wow thanks heaps for that. So without trading Sexton out by round 13, I would have copped 5 doughnuts and used 6 trades. Whereas if I do my McDonald -> Ablett trade next week, I'll use 5 trades and still cop 5 doughnuts. Surely this would be the best plan?

This week: Greene -> Stevie J (using new trade rule)
Round 11: McDonald -> Ablett, copping 2 doughnuts
Round 12: Clarke -> Darley & Magner -> Boyd, copping 1 doughnut
Round 13: Ellis -> Lake/Broughton & Horsely -> Pendlebury, copping 2 doughnuts

Andrew

I just realised I don't have the cash to do the Stevie J upgrade this week and then McDonald -> Ablett. Makes Sexton a must for me if I want to stick to the plan. McDonald misses next week anyway so I do feel like it's worth taking the punt on Sexton's job security in rounds 11 & 12. Smith would also miss and is the candidate putting his hand up with a 44 breakeven and priced at $297k... What do you think of Greene -> Stevie J and Smith -> Sexton for me? My team this week:

DEF: Goddard, Deledio, Shaw, Suckling, Waters, Hargrave, Heppell (Clarke, Ellis)
MIDS: Swan, Thompson, J. Selwood, Hayes, Horsely, McDonald (Zorko, Magner)
RUCKS: Cox, Giles (Stephenson, Redden)
FOR: STEVIE J, Franklin, Sidebottom, Beams, Robinson, Martin, Treloar (SEXTON, Cameron)

Leaving me with 11 trades and $338k.

Andrew

Round 11: Scored 1632 with 2 doughnuts and 2 trades used
Round 12: Scored 1816 with 3 doughnuts (screw you Waters & Hargrave!) and 3 trades used

Current team ranked 4008with $267.3k and 7 trades in bank:

DEF: Goddard, H. Shaw, Darley, Waters, Hargrave, Heppell, S. Shaw (Suckling, Ellis)
MIDS: Swan, Thompson, J. Selwood, Deledio, Boyd, McDonald (Sexton, Ablett)
RUCKS: Cox, Giles (Stephenson, Redden)
FOR: STEVIE J, Zorko, Sidebottom, Beams, Robinson, Cameron, Treloar (Franklin, Martin)

Trades this week: Treloar -> Gibson? Or give Treloar another chance vs Melbourne? I don't want his price to crash :(

I could avoid a doughnut by doing Ellis -> Gibson, but I'm not too concerned about doing that particularly when Ellis has some easy fixtures the month back from the bye...

Andrew

Round 13: Scored 1677 with 3 doughnuts and 2 trades used.

Current team ranked 2734th with $318.3k and 5 trades in bank:

DEF: Goddard, Deledio, H. Shaw, Waters, Heppell, Suckling, Darley (S. Shaw, Ellis)
MIDS: Swan, Thompson, J. Selwood, Boyd, Ablett, Zorko (McDonald, Gibson)
RUCKS: Cox, Giles (Stephenson, Redden)
FOR: Stevie J, Chapman, Sidebottom, Beams, Robinson, Franklin, Martin (Cameron, Sexton)

Doing Giles -> Maric this week for sure and probably hold otherwise.
