7 premos in middle

Whats everbodies views on having 7 premos in middle. Toying with the idea as i have cash and enough trades to make guys like zorks and lake backups in for/def

I am looking at finishing off my side first, but then going for someone like Nathan Foley or Jack Steven as my 7th mid.

It's not a bad idea but look at 22 premiums on field first. :)

Yeah with injuries and whatnot you're dreaming to have 22 full-on premiums, unless that includes spud premos like Martin, Priddis, Adcock etc

even if i had spare trades to do this i would rather maximise points on field and keep trades for flexibility, maybe have 7 full prem forwards and have martin or a dpp that is underperforming as a moveable bench

l think the only good reason to have an extra premo in any position is if you have an under performing one. l'll use the example of Dustin Martin......rather than sideways trade him, if you have the cash, why not bring in a performing premo that you want and keep him as a dpp benchie. That way you are using the same amount of trades, aren't losing a player that may well come good and have a very good emergency in case of the dreaded "late withdrawal"

if you go down that path make one of them a DPP, e.g. Beams, Sidebottom, Robinson, Deledio, so you can switch them into their other lines and put a rookie on the bench in the MID

Through DPP I'm making sure I've got good cover in all positions. I will have 2 non-playing 85k DPP benchies.
By Round 17 my team will look like.
DEF: Goddard Deledio Heppell Waters Shaw Carrazzo Birchall (Townsend Redpath (FWD) )
MID: Swan Pendles Ablett Selwood Rockliff Thompson (Zorko Gibson)
RUC: Roughead HMac (hopefully be back) (Giles Redden)
FWD: Sidey Buddy Beams Dangerfield Robbo Chappy M.Johnson (Martin Pattison (RUC) )

At a glance my bench looks quite weak but I have made sure I have good cover in all positions.
Defender gets injured/rested/suspended, move Johnson back and play Martin/Zorko/Giles
Midfielder  "      "          "        "            , move Sidey (mid-fwd) to mids and play Martin/Zorko/Giles
Ruck         "      "         "         "            , Play Giles
Forward    "      "         "         "            , Place on bench, play Martin/Zorko/Giles

This means the odd rest/suspension/slight injury won't affect the team as bad and trades are only required for season ending injuries.

When i finish my side i reckon i will have 6-7 trades up my sleeve. Perfect to decide on D8, M7, R3 and F8. Hoping to use Roughead for Rucks and Forwards, so i'll need another ruck upgrade. If Dylan Shiel lkeeps up his scoring he can be my 7th mid, and not even bother trading him all season. :O Backline is my weak spot but can anyone score consistently in the backline?? :(

I had a mate who did this last year, but it made more sense then as there was a bye every week and most weeks one or nore of his premos was out. As stated before I'd get a full team first and then make sure the guy you bring in is dpp like beams/sidey/lids.

i think getting in a real smokie as your 7th mid could be a good stratergy
then popping him on your field in grudge matches for league wins
