A bit late on this trade obviously (got injured two weeks after I traded him in for Mumford :D), but had more pressing doughnuts to attend to last week, as I had Stephenson and Redden for cover (my trade probably would have been Sandi too!). Who should I go for of these three? (or wait for someone from next week such as Griffin or maybe even Ryder and play Redden/Giles).

Jacobs is very cheap, and has been quite consistent (albeit for some poor games recently), Goldstein seems to be in good form and with Hmac out for the moment at least seems to be a good option... scoring potential possibly a risk when Hmac comes back, although maybe not? Or the all-time favourite Cox, who has been quite consistent too, but is more expensive and might not score as well with Nat in the side.

Anyway cheers for the help lads!

Watch out for Mumford and Jon Griffey also, will likely get mor time in the 2nd half of season

Jacobs is consistently "average". At the start of the season I thought I was on to a winner with a Jacobs/Kruezer combo, and apart from the first couple of games, I have a very mediocre ruck department. Jacobs isn't having the breakout season I thought he might (DT wise).

Looks like most are keen on Goldstein... he does seem like the best option at the moment in terms of price, scoring potential and likelihood to get rested (a la Cox). Then again everyone has doubted Cox's ability to keep scoring yet he is still the #1 ruck at the moment...

Jacobs is really tempting for me at them moment as it saves me a trade (can bring Swan and Beams straight in next week, leaving me with 9 trades and only one more premium to bring in...), but I think I'll go with the mob and go Goldstein!

Cheers!

The Stein by a mile. As possumo stipulated in his first sentence.

Chopps

Cox, averaging 98.9, last 5 average of 109.8.

Majak Daw may be elevated to give him a hand in Hmacs absence, North are allowed to promote him off the rookie list, (clubs who have room under the dsalry cap can promote rooks now regardless of LTI ect)

Might get him :)

But in all seriousness, Goldy in form is VERY hard to go past, Griffen will go all Maric on us from here on in too tho, have us kicking ourselves in 6 rounds for not getting him in cheap, he will be amongst the highest averaging rucks from this point on as #1 ruck at Freo, that is for sure! would have been traded at the end of the year maybe not now, one of the most sought after rucks in the comp, just never got the shot he deserved in spudilands giant shadow.

T Dog

perhaps just Maric after his bye  :o

I'm going Griffin, with Sandi out for 10 weeks he's locked in the team and can score huge at times

Do not get goldy unless you are prepared for his crappy scores in finals time once hmac comes back. Cox is ok, but I'm leaning towards either griffin as a bit more unique or the mullet. Griffin has shown us kast year he can post big scores with sandi out, and this will be the case for the next 10 weeks.

DT Gun

how is this even a question?

Jacobs isnt a premium - Goldy will only score well while Hmac is out so he isnt a premium

Cox - Proven Premium year after year

Jacobs is averaging 80, and that is even after a string of really poor games, which has also made him extremely cheap, possibly saving me a trade (which considering the lack of decent rookies to downgrade to, could be really valuable). He had a massive 2nd half of the season last year, and has no competition in the ruck, meaning he is probably a good bet to average 90+ for the last half of the season. Was just throwing it out there as he worked out well when I traded him in mid-way through last year.

As for Goldy, Hmac is going to be out for more than half of the remaining season, and since Goldy has been in dominant ruck form over the past month, it's unlikely that Hmac will take a lot of his ruck time, especially since he has shown that he is far less effective than Hmac in the forward line.

Cox will definitely be a solid pick, and I'm very tempted to trade him in, but he is probably the most likely to get rested out of any of the top ruckmen. Would have definitely been happy if I had've started with him (for one thing it would've saved me two trades...), but there is just something putting me off him... might end up coming back to bite me, but we'll see.

As for the mullet, he is obviously flying, but due to his bye and his massive price, it's hard to justify bringing him in. I've already had the situation of having to bench my #1 ruck more than actually playing him, so keeping Hmac for another two weeks is hard to justify... I may as well just keep him by that stage. With Griffin it's much the same, I'd prefer to have a premium in this week in order to give me a better chance of winning, with two doughnuts already and Redden's form looking very iffy.

Anyway, cheers for all the responses lads, pretty much certain I'll be going Goldy now.
