QuoteNew midfielder Matt de Boer says the on-ballers are to blame for Fremantle's inability to capitalise on Aaron Sandilands' ruck dominance after the Dockers were again comprehensively beaten at the stoppages last weekend

Do not think it is Sandis fault either.  Think most coaches realise when playing Sandi in the rucks that he is going to get his hand to it first and the tactic for the opoosing midfielders is reading the ball of Sandis hand so you have both sets of midfielders around the ball.

Where De Boer is correct the midfielders probably need to be more agressive in this area being first to the ball and win the ball over the opposition.

The difference is that both teams are setting up to rove off Sandilands.  He has twice as many players trying to rove from him than any other ruck in the game, so his job is twice as hard and he has to be centimeter perfect (copyright Dennis Cometti)

This also means that the Freo midfield has to be better than our opponents, which at the moment it isn't.  I keep saying that our midfield is our weakness at the moment.
