Dale Thomas is the guy opposition fans love to slag off, mainly because as a young kid he was flashy and somewhat inconsistent. Several years on he is undoubtably an elite player, particularly in finals and grand finals when it gets hard whilst still showing off some great skills.

So I thought he deserved some praise for the handling of the racists incident on Sunday with Joel Wilkinson. The key was him offering his support to the young guy BEFORE they left the ground then following up afterwards. That it wasn't an after thought or a reflection but was immediate is genuine care and leadership from a senior professional to a junior professional.

Such actions by such a high profile player make huge differences to our society and I personally feel a proud supporting Dale Thomas and Collingwood despite the fact the idiot involved supported (and I use that loosely) the Pies.

I  concur with comments Cruise and good to see the way he followed up with Joel. This was all the more worthy considering Joel was also the victim of Sherman last year.

Well done Daisy on the stand you took and to the Collingwood Club for their swift action.  Racial vilification has no place whatsoever in AFL.
