New strategy - working so far...

Have tried a new strategy this season with reasonable success.  I am ranked 3k in DT at the moment but am most interested in winning my comp.

Deliberately loaded up with a few extra rookies this year, and have focused on making money rather than points. I've used 5 trades, have $800,000 in the bank and am just waiting on premiums to get to the right price before snapping them up.
Team at the mo:

Def: Deledio, Scotland, Waters, Grimes, Lake, Hargrave, Dempsey (Ellis, Morris)
Mid: Ablett, Pendlebury, Goddard, Horsely, McDonald, Coniglio (Adams, Treloar)
Ruck: Cox, Giles (Stephenson, Redden)
Fwd: Sidebottom, Dangerfield, Chapman, Zaharakis, Franklin, Martin, Rioli (Cameron, Hall)

Reckon this week I'll look at bringing Zorko and maybe Jenkins in, to add to the war chest.  Obviously I've got a weak midfield but so far it is still scoring pretty consistently.  I figure if I'm patient and wait for premiums to drop to the $450K odd mark, I can build a better team than just using the upgrade / downgrade strategy.

Thoughts?

Not sure about Goddard in mids...

Need him down back so you can get some good midfielders.

Yeah, he's only there at the mo to keep the MPP link. If we dont get any Def/Mid rookies playing soon I'll move him to def and upgrade Dempsey to a mid prem.

Yeh not bad idea, with the new DPP trading rule, you can have your def/mid premos in your mids, until your ready to upgrade. Shouldn't be a problem.

Did you mean you had a lot of midpricers not rooks? You have quite a lot of them and i can't imagine you upgrading to mid pricers. Looks good so far except for some dodgy picks(Rioli?)
