First year supercoacher.

Any finals advice? How many trades do i need to keep?

I don't quite understand why i need trades if i set my side and emergencies right...  :-\

Johnnysd

Rule of thumb is minimum 6 trades for finals. Many teams will be similar come finals so if say Goddard is out your opposition may trade to another prem which means your bench cover may be out scored by 40-60 points on a good day which could be the difference.

I think it also depends where abouts you sit in your league. No point in saving trades if you're sitting in 10th. In saying that, at least 4 come finals, but 6 is preferred.

Ringo

4/6 is ideal.  However in saying that it is no good missing the finals if you still have quite a number of trades,

Why I say 4/6 is traditionally General soreness sets in for teams who can not change positions for the final and as Johnny said it is much better to trade a prem for a prem in final than rely on your bench.

Thank you all.

I am 5-1 with 13 trades left. Just scored 2489. My best supercoach score ever!

Planning on eating donuts through the byes, as I wasted a lot of early trades out of not really knowing what i was doing.

I have a strong opponent in round 11. trying to win that game, so ive set up my side to handle that round.

Weak opponent in round 12, win.

Probably eat a lot of donuts in round 13.

I think I could probably not long on and make the finals. I will take your advice and try to have six trades at the beginning of the finals.

Why six though? How many final rounds are there?

I really appreciate peoples input.  :D

6 trades allows for a double trade after every finals game, which is an advantage considering teams tend to rest their players towards the end of the season.

We play a series of finals starting with elimination finals then qualifying and prelim and then grand final each week dropping 2 teams from Leagues.  So that is why you need 4/6 to cover these 4 finals if you go all the way through.
