Dt is more challenging than sc. There is more cap restrictions and really have to budget the team in.

When i make the team from scratch i choose 3 rookies minimum in each position so i dont forget the emergencies. Then i change stuff around after i choose a 30 team.

pick who you want as captain.
pick 3 premium backs, 3 premium forwards
look at rookies
look where lots of rookies so that you can upgrade/downgrade as neccessary throughout season.
look at premiums you picked... will they get injured? yes/no
if yes... put more money around those positions... e.g. if backs avg age > 29 then you need more money in your backs. Flipside is true for forwards.
Chase them cash cows!
