WEST Coast forward Josh Kennedy faces a fitness race after injuring his ankle in the Eagles’ bruising 10-point win over Richmond at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Kennedy appeared to roll his ankle mid-way through the second quarter but managed to play out the thrilling match, aided by tight strapping and painkillers.

The Eagles had already lost young forward Mitch Brown, who was subbed out of the match after copping a poke in the eye in the first minute of play, throwing his side’s rotations into disarray.

Big defender Eric Mackenzie was a late withdrawal from the game with an ear infection.

RICHMOND on-baller Brett Deledio twisted his knee in a collision with teammate Shane Tuck, but was able to return to the match late in the second term.

Tigers forward Jack Riewoldt was left doubled over and vomiting after an off-the-ball hit from Eagles midfielder Scott Selwood, who could face heat from the match review panel over the incident.

ADELAIDE forward Taylor Walker could face scrutiny from the MRP following his near best-on-ground display against Port Adelaide on Sunday.

Walker, who bagged a career-best half-a-dozen goals, could be cited for a slide-in challenge on Port midfielder Jacob Surjan.

Crows skipper Nathan van Berlo will face a fitness test this week before his side’s looming clash with an unbeaten Sydney at the SCG after he copped a corked thigh against the Power.

Forward Jason Porplyzia (deltoid strain) and young defender Sam Shaw (hamstring) will also face tests during the week.

BRISBANE lost midfielder James Polkinghorne before the start of the Lions’ washed-out and woeful loss to Geelong at the Gabba.

COLLINGWOOD triumphed over Essendon by a single point in the ANZAC Day epic on Wednesday and came out of the match relatively unscathed.

The Magpies could welcome back star goalsneak Dale Thomas for their clash with the Western Bulldogs on Friday night, as he battles to overcome a hamstring strain.

Key talls Ben Reid (quad) and Chris Tarrant (calf) could miss another week as they continue with their recoveries.

ESSENDON lost yet another star to a soft tissue injury in their heart-breaking loss to the Magpies, with Michael Hibberd set to miss at least three weeks with a hamstring strain.

Hibberd joins key teammates Nathan Lovett-Murray, David Myers, Courtenay Dempsey, Michael Hurley and Jason Winderlich in recovery for hamstring strains.

Key Bombers big man David Hille and veteran Mark McVeigh are still three weeks away battling calf problems.

In better news for the Bombers, who sit 4-1, youngster Travis Colyer made a solid return from a thumb injury via Essendon’s affiliate side Bendigo in the VFL.

FREMANTLE on-baller Nat Fyfe battled hard during the Dockers’ eight-point loss to Carlton on Friday night, with the midfield sensation gathering 22 disposals despite suffering through obvious pain in his loosened shoulder joint.

Dockers giant ruckman Aaron Sandilands was a late withdrawal from the match after failing to come up from a calf tweak in which he suffered some bleeding during the week.

GEELONG faces an anxious wait on Monday with skipper Joel Selwood set to come under scrutiny for his scuffle with Lions stopper Andrew Raines during the Cats’ soggy win on Saturday night.

Selwood and Raines traded blows during the final quarter of the match a long way behind the play, with the Cats captain carrying 25 demerit points and 40 per cent loading as a result of a four-match suspension last season.

GOLD COAST marquee code-hopper Karmichael Hunt could also come under review for a head-high bump on North Melbourne captain Andrew Swallow on Saturday.

Swallow required medical assistance after copping the contact from Hunt as he was being tackled by young Sun Josh Caddy during the Kangaroos’ 34-point win.

Midfield maestro Gary Ablett missed the Suns' Monday morning recovery session and remains doubtful for Gold Coast's Round 6 clash with Fremantle.

Fellow veteran Michael Rischitelli is rated a better chance to come up against the Dockers, after he rolled his ankle at training last week.

GWS GIANTS prized number-two draft pick Stephen Coniglio faces tests this week after suffering a concussion during his side’s loss to the Western Bulldogs.

Veteran recruit Chad Cornes was a late out from the match because of general soreness.

HAWTHORN will sweat on the fitness of key defender Josh Gibson ahead of the Hawks’ blockbuster clash with St Kilda on Saturday night.

Gibson injured his ankle during the Hawks’ shock loss to the Swans on Sunday.

MELBOURNE mature-age sensation James Magner will race to be fit for the Demons’ clash with Geelong in Round 6, after copping injuries in two separate incidents on Saturday against the Saints.

Magner required stitches for a deep gash under his left eye after an off-the-ball incident and then suffered a knee injury in a pile-up with teammate Luke Tapscott.

PORT ADELAIDE big man Jay Schulz copped a poke in the eye from Crow Michael Doughty in the tough Showdown clash on Sunday.

WEST BULLDOGS defender Ryan Hargrave was a late withdrawal from his side’s win over the Giants with a hip complaint and will be monitored during the week.
