Emergency Question

Ok so i know if you have the E on 2 players in one position you get the lowest score of the 2
But what happens if one doesn`t play but the other player does do you get the 0 or the other players score
My son left the E on Paine by accident so has Smedts and Paine as back emergencies now with Hargrave out will he get Smedts score or the 0

Yeah you get both points if two out.

The 0 for not playing doesn't count so he gets smedts score
