I'm a West Coast fan but not sure if Sheppard will get a start early in  the year.  I think he maybe used as backup for Waters, Butler and Hurn.

Midfield is VERY premium/rookie with plenty of captain options  but there are some great value players under $300k worth looking at.

Same with your forward line but I guess that's just me as I won't be starting with 5 rookie's on the field.

yea maybe a few more mid pricers could help plenty in the mids like palmer cotchin etc, if u are gonna bring in a mid pricer then keep selwood and gibbs they are my 2 locks

I would trade out one of ur premiums for a mid priced in ur midfield, also starting 2 rookies in ur mids could be a little risky. Maybe go for 3 premium, 2 mid priced and 1 rookie.
Your rucks are kind of weak, especially Hille who may or not be ready for round 1.
I would shy away from Harvey in the forwards as he is getting fairly old and may miss a few games due to injury. Also Buddy is still in a moon boot so he will more than likely be underdone come the start of the year, plus he will miss round 1 due to suspension.
Not sure about Brown either as Fevola could take some points away from him, he might be a better upgrade option once we've seen what affect Fevola might have there.

Hope this helps

wait and see on Harvey, he could be a good pickup imo if his 0 is included in his average, he was one of the most durable players before last year, and his injury was not even his fault he got chicken winged! i reckon get on him!

@clint - I agree with what you say re Brown and Fev, but the opposite may also be true.  Fev is sure to attract a lot of attention from defenders falling back to cut off his leads, possibly leaving Brown a fair bit of space to work in.
I think he could very well be the dominant forward of the comp next year.

Cheers for the advice.

Have word from a very good source that Brownie is the power forward to back in '10.

Fair point regarding the midfield and ruck. Will build the ruck a bit. Only concern with two midpricers in the mid = two more upgrades needed.

Will post a revised team soon.

Cheers for all the feedback so far. Ive taken into account a few of the value comments regarding mids and rucks. Ive posted the new team below, along with the reason I picked em.

Backs
S.Fisher - Consistent, will improve on last year
L.Hodge - Uninterrupted pre-season so far, will have a swag of non-injured hawks backing him up.
J.Drummond - Lions will be a better side this year, with some new solid defenders to free up drummo.
S.Hurn - Just love the way the guy kicks, no-doubt improver for 2010.
N.Suban - Training with the midfield, will play 22 games and increase his score.
R.Ladson - Plays in the midfield also, very durable, will make money.
M.Farmer - last rookie, interchangeable for anyone I think will get a consistent game at the same price.

Bench: P.Davis, M.Maguire (both should play SOME games in 10).

Mids
J.Bartel - My GAblett captain option, consistent, loves his junk time.
B.Gibbs - More improvement in him, specially in the carlton midfield.
J.Selwood - I reckon hes the energiser bunny, I dont care if he makes his points ducking for frees or winning the footy. Had 1 game @ 185 points in 2009.
A.Cooney - Full pre-season so far, gets tagged but wins the footy. Look at his end to 2009 when he built a better engine.
R.Palmer - Shouldn't cop the tag too much, will watch in pre-season, believe a better pick then cotchin who is still training in the modified group @ richmond.
B.Cunnington - Last year it was D.Rich, this year I reckon it'll be Cunnington.

Bench: S.Blease, L.Shuey (should get games)

Rucks
K.Tippett
M.Kruezer (both guys here are guaranteed to improve their scores from last year. Durable too),

Bench: M.Lobbe, Jackson Tengove. (No question here).

Forwards

B.Deledio (if he learns to break a tag he will be devestating).
D.Giansiraucsa (full pre-season, will improve on last year).
B.Harvey (Not injury prone, just unlucky. Looking for him too lead the new group of Kangas).
L.Franklin (Its only a moon boot, the op happened just before christmas when most players have a break from footy. He cant be as bad as he was in 2009 can he?)
C.Rioli (Will play more in the midfield, hooper to fill his spot in the forward line. He plays like a gazza, just needs some consistency).
J.Trengove (Will get games, should have been the no.1 pick. Love that he wasn't, let collingwood tag Scully instead).
S.Gumbleton (highest draft pick I can remember the bombers having. They'll play him. Lets just hope he doesn't bend down to pick anything up).

Bench: L.Tapscott, T.Dennis-Lane. (Ready made footballers who are 'training the house down').

I've tried to look for a few things in each player.
1) Value
2) Durability
3) Correct roles.

Looking forward to anymore advice.

Cheers again!
