straight from assistant coach:

It's mid-price defender mayhem in this Sunday showdown, with Western Bulldogs trio Brian Lake, Ryan Hargrave and Christian Howard, along with West Coast hard-nut Beau Waters, all vying for $250k-$350k of your backline budget. Pre-season results suggest Bulldogs defenders are going to benefit from a key cog in new coach Brendan McCartney's game plan - retaining the footy. McCartney himself has tipped Howard to be the breakout Dream Teamer at his club this year, although Hargrave and Lake have at least "been there, done that", if only for a season each (Hargrave in 2009 and Lake in 2010). There's no doubting Waters' ability to score - two 90s this pre-season attest to that - it's his whether or not the frequently sidelined stalwart stays uninjured that will decide if he's a boom or bust pick this year. Bear in mind that all these blokes share the same bye, so be prepared to eat some donuts in round 11 if you load up.

Windigo

Howard for something different.

Hargrave for safety if he fails.

haha didn't have the balls...

went Hargrave - proven premo, he did look very good in NAB Cup ~ Lake too old ~ Howard hasn't shown enough ~ Golby hasn't proven himself, but good luck to the all the brave people that picked him!

supposedly Roy from DT TALK contacted a brisbane fc manager and he told him that Golby will lose his spot once Docherty and Drummond are 100% fit

Yoshi

What year was Drummond last 100% fit. Been quite a few years.

I really doubt that a FC manager would be saying things like that. Certainly would cause unrest with the players.

Windigo

Drummo better do a knee or something. That will keep me at ease at the selection table with Golby.

I kept him, seems like everyone got cold feet on him?

I have Hargrave as well.

essendon2

well Hargrave and 34.5k or Golby and 2k
- went Hargrave option for money and safety.

what are you on Windigo?

arzbar96

I went Hargrave DT, Golby Sc..
Don't know if Golby is suited to Sc, just a last minute decision..

Problems

I've taken a risk and got Howard in, hope he steps up this year  :)

And if the Dogs new gameplan strategy doesn't work or they want to try different players/youth as the year goes on, I'm hoping Lake and Hargrave get cut before young Howard does!  :-X
