You're kidding me...

AFL is soft and is still punishing Carlton for when they were caught cheating.
(Being the only club looked at out of 16 mind you)

How is that worth three weeks? Lloyd broke a guys face at full pelt, judd put a palm on an ear. One weeks difference.

McVeigh's slap would have hurt more than what Judd did, yet his 2 matches was reduced to one.

It is just a conspiracy to keep Carlton from winning that little further away.
Same thing is happening in World Football with Blatter and Platini targeting the richest EPL clubs (Chelsea, Man U, Man City) and punishing them.

It is a joke, and it makes the AFL hard hitting image look soft, which is why Hawk's President Kennent is wanting females playing the game, because the way the game is moving, the game will be full of them.

Would you like thoughts on your writing skills or on the content?  ;)

I thought the article was quite well written, though I do have to raise an objection to your opinion that the three week sanction imposed by the AFL is too harsh.  If Judd had suceeded in eye-gouging Rischitelli (if indeed that was his intention), it could have had significant and long term repercussions for the Brisbane midfielder.

I for one believe that any deliberate action that is against the spirit of the game and likely to cause harm to another player, especially when not in a genuine contest for the ball, should be dealt with decisively and severely.  After seeing the footage of the incident numerous times, I don't think anyone could mount a reasonable argument that it was anything other than deliberate.

Chris Judd is an outstanding player, and has enjoyed a squeaky clean image to this point, with significant media and management assistance I am sure.  I am sure the tension of the match played a part and Judd may not have had a malicious intent, but the fact remains that such a stupid act can not go unpunished and he should be made an example of.

roo boys!

Very well written article firstly, but the thing I find strange is how the martial arts people said it could have killed him and people are whinging over 3 weeks?have you ever considered what would have happened if he pressed that tiny bit harder and actually killed him? What sort of chaos would that Arise?
