How important is it to have a mid/fwd MPP in your mids?

At the moment have Ablett, Murphy, Selwood, Watson, Coniglio, Shiel (Magner, Ledger)

I have D. Smith up forward, along with a lot of premium MPP's, like Fyfe, Martin.

Is it worth putting D. Smith in the mids for say Ledger and slotting someone else down forward?

Cheers.

I think it is vital to have at least 1 link, problem is that you have to lose one of MAGNER/LEDGER to make it happen. I have gone with PFIFFER in the mids as I wanted to start SMITH in the forwards.

Depends how you want to tackle the byes in rnds 11, 12 and 13. I think DPP was more important last year when you had to juggle constant byes plus injuries.

do you think it is ok to go in with no dpp links but bank on the likes of zorko, treloar and docherty to be downgrade options later in the year around bye time?

Yes this would be a good strategy but you'd need really good timing if you didnt want to go with the options available at the moment. You are at the mercy of the coaches and we all know they don't have our strategies in mind when and if they play new players.

Not going with DPP in my mids. Too many good mid rookies and not enough in other positions to waste say a D.Smith in midfield. I'll downgrade to Zorko, Treloar etc. later. The new trade rule makes things easier too.

You'll find that with the new trade rules DPP is VITAL I can't stress this enough. You'll see what i mean when you start trading. NRL supercoach uses the same rules and DPP makes so many more trade options between positions possible.
