It does for me to a certain extent. I think it is mostly relevant for the forwards in a team though. A gun backman playing in a team that has a tough early draw could record a higher score than a gun backman in a team with a good early draw because it's in the opposition's forward half for the majority of the game.

I am not starting with Dustin Martin due to this and I have also thought about not starting with Lance Franklin too but it's LANCE FRANKLIN. Hawthorn could very well be the benchmark this year anyway and Franklin could still smash out massive scores against the Pies, Cats etc etc.

Agree with you Ben. It depends on the players and where they play, and also who they get matched up with. Also didn't pick Martin although I plan to get him eventually. Had to pick Buddy cause he's Buddy and Hawks will smash it this year. When I found out Tarrant,Maxwell and Brown weren't playing r1 the choice was even easier. Tigers and Hawks were the obvious ones to watch with their early draw. Conversely Cats Dons Pies and Swans have an easier run, which is partly why I picked Selwood,Goodes,Swan and Heppel.
