I've asked this question on SC also - how do people rate these players in terms of risk? B.Waters, C.Dempsey, R.Hargrave, B.Lake, N.Malceski, C.Howard, R.Conca, B.Smith, J.Grimes. Start with least risk to highest risk.This may help people decide on their mid price defenders.

There are too many iffy choices in defenders after Lids and God.
I want to take advantage of as many mid scoring fwds as possible.
Defenders are easier to upgrade to as they are cheaper.
There are heaps of potential mid price bargains in defense, just got to pick the right ones.
If a mid pricer kills it ala Malceski two years ago it's easier to get him in if you have a mid pricer that has failed(or even better you could have him from the start) rather than losing a gun or not having the cash to upgrade a rook until it's too late.

I think people are too quick to discount mid pricers.

I got waters malceski hargrave - did have golby until half and hour ago but after looking at the last fantasy freako pdf i went hargrave. Think it might hurt abit cause i got a bad feeling hargrave could get me of a holding role.
