All the scores of players and the average amount of points based on points per minute (a real reflection of effectiveness because of the amount of players rested and playing half games)

Ivan Maric is ranked 4th for Richmond with 1.211 PPM

do the maths for that number - (game time usually is around 115-120 minutes per game, so if he plays a bit over 80% of a game so about 100 minutes then 100*1.211 = 121.1 supercoach points a game)

This is quite a bit more than another Mid priced ruck people are considering named Hamish Macintosh who got an average of 1.106 and was the 2nd best player for North Melbourne during the NAB cup and was getting rave reviews from fans.

Why no love for Ivan Maric who has clearly been tearing it up?

Because it is NAB cup and most of the time he is playing against rookie rucks and/or other rucks who really don't flower a f*ck so to speak lol.

Jacka33

Even if thats the case, the only rucks who got a better PPM average than Ivan Maric.

Were Dean Cox and David Hale.

bkimm32

Cox will be the #1 ranked ruckman by seasons end. If Ivan Maric is #2 then I'll be......

Jacka33

I'm not saying he is top 2,

but at $338,300 for a player who i reckon will score at least an average of 90 points and probably over 100 IMO, how can you seriously just disregard the idea without even considering it first?

BillyBeane

Easy - I've just disregarded it. Maric won't average that while my backside is pointing at the ground. I'd rather have Don Disher in the ruck.

bkimm32

Well if you arn't going to pick two keepers (set and forget as everyone says it) then why not start with a rookie who will make more cash, and upgrade to the #2 performing ruckman later on? That way you can use the extra cash saved by not picking Maric in another position, be it mids/forward, whatever you please.

But if you have your perfect team set out, all the prems and rookies you want, with cash in hand, then go for Maric

meh...fine

Why do i need to convince others of a good get.

All i can say is when he becomes a premium by the end of the year, don't come whining to me.
