I am sensing a lot of love lost for one james macdonald? am i right in thinking this? the question i do have tho is are you really taking his nab form thst seriously? the bloke is mid 30's do you actually think he is trying in nab cup. honestly i read as much into that as what i do with richmond beating geelong by 10 goals.

Definitely love has been lost for him - lot less mention of him recently around here.

I personally wasn't interested in him. If he dominated NAB I may have been tempted, but not now. Having said that, he wouldn't be that bad an option especially considering the uncertainty of some of the other mid rookies who were previously considered locks.

I think a few people may revert back to him when other rookies they were hoping would be named Round 1, aren't  ;)

Like you said, he is mid 30's. How many players his age can spend a year out of the game, come back in and just expect to pick it up again?

With GWS's extreme midfield depth they don't have to play him often, if at all. Ward, Palmer, Scully, Reid, Power, Clifton, Coniglio, Tyson, Hoskin-Elliot, Green, Smith, Miles will all get games and there is plenty of competition for spots.

Yeah I have a bad feeling he may be too good too be true. All good points meow but surely they didn't pay $$ for him to just be coaching from the sidelines? If he gets 9 games out of 12 first up that should be enough to make $$? After that he will be up/downgraded anyway.

did score 70sc points on the weekend. if he can average around that ill be happy.

Well said Meow, if he is named on the field he must be considered, but if named on the pine then think again.  I don't have him ATM but he is on the short list.

i think out of all those mids at GWS, Jmac seems the only who can tag!! i'm pretty sure i'll start him personally. miles seems to be the one who is iffy for selection

Oh, I forgot Townsend - who is being groomed as a tagger and kept Dustin Martin quiet last weekend.
