Ruck stratagies? Your views please!

Im toying with the idea of playing a mid price and having three rookies in my rucks., this has freed a heap of cash that has let me stock the rest of my team with premiums,

Current ruck selection is :

I. Maric, J Redden, S. Rowe, O. Stephensen

This has allowed me to have

3 premium defenders
5 Premium Mids
3 Premium Fwds

With 46k left in the bank

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

im sought of against this strategy personally.
i think that u make a good amount of points in the ruck and ur prems like cox are a must.
i think that having more prems in the mid sounds good in theory but i reckon u can get away with
having 3 prems in ur mid and the rest rookies. there is so many good rookies in the mids to choose from
this year. gibson, magner, clifton, shiel to name a few
the place id be trying to stack good players is ur back line, not as many options for rookies in the backline
a lot of ppl are trying to go midpricers as well and it may pay off but it might backfire on u as well ie lake, grimes

Go with HamMac over Maric, and Giles over Rowe.

Re Hmac or Maric, thinking maric is a lock in as No. 1 ruck at richmond, where as i doubt that is the case with Hmac!

yes i have also gone with the mid price players in the back line as well, still not sold on it yet though.

anyway this would be team version 145 this week alone!!! :D

call me crazy then, cox has served us well in the past, and more than likely will again this season, im hopeing to trade up too him eventually!!!!

Definitely a courageous strategy, direwolf.

If you're going down that path then I agree that Maric is a 'safer' option than HMac as R1. I'd definitely start with Giles as R2 though. As serviceable as Redden has been, he is not gauranteed gametime once Renouf returns. Also, like previous first year rucks, he will spit out the odd sub-50. Giles, on the otherhand, has great JS and will give you consistent scores (somewhere between 60 and 80).

As Jukes recommends, I'd bring in Giles a the expense of Rowe, who has showed the least this pre-season.

Ultimately its all about points per dollar, so if you think that you can get a leg up using this strategy then go for it!

I think there is some merrit to the idea but agree that you may need to shuffle your rookie rucks. In the scheme of things your still going to have the same number of premiums but it will mean that you will have to burn trades on upgrading rookie rucks which i feel are slower to mature in terms of being cash cows than mid rookies and some fwd rookies

Ithink they said he got sore after 1 qur. Also mentioned Lobbe progressing slower than 1st thought, Interesting from a d/t perspective, but not good for the Power
