wouldnt trust porps

The trust points very valid, but geez he looks tempting. It's just a matter of sticking to my self imposed rules-- no risks this year, I'm slowly breaking :-\

Beg to differ..

Cox will drop in price.

Porps will only drop if he gets injured and then outski so no great loss there give his high upside ie 90 pts average easy if fit.

Get McEvoy and pick up Cox later to save money.

Love a debate!

Soon and because he was absolutely flying last year and Nicnat will get more time this year and because I think the same wrt Pendles this year and I reckon same happened to Ablett recently.

To me it seems the higher the breakeven the more like pulling on an elastic band it is. One poor game and boing!

Talking about boing' just hope the dolphin's shoulder doesn't.

It's all speculation but I'll be getting him when I can afford him.

Good luck.

Whenever I think about getting a proven super prem 'when he drops value' I always slap myself and think back to Ablett in 2010(?) when he started at 700k and basically didn't get below 620k or so until mid season or something ridiculous, and I ended up paying 650k+ for him anyway...

Even if Pendles and Cox drop 50k each, is it worth the trades or the points lost by getting a second rate player? They'll both easily be in the top 10 by season's end - so why not start with them?

I can see the $50000 you have initially could make Martin into Goodes or Rioli into Buddy almost.

Agree, both later, but personally don't see Pendles outscoring Swan by as much as the other combos just above this line.

The 2nd top pick usually allows a more balanced team IMO.

Yeah / nah?

why and when will cox drop?

Yeah I cant see him dropping.

He is the premier ruckman in the competition.  I had him locked in weeks ago and after seeing him play the other night I went and double locked him in.

If he plays like he did on the weekend and scores 151 every week he will only go up in value.

Trust me, they are not paying this bloke over $1,000,000 a year to rest him.
Ablett will play every game if fit, and play the position he plays best - the midfield.

Back on topic, depending on the rookie, Cox/rookie could earn you more points.
It all depends on your strategy. Will you be starting one prem ruck? Eg. potential upgrade to Cox? Or is McEvoy part of a set and forget ruck strategy?

It all basically comes down to one fact. Can you justify the points lost by going McEvoy over Cox, which could potentially be 15-20 points a game on average.
You may make those points back depending on the rookie you choose. So choose wisely ;)
