Hogan was a huge impresser
To keep Ablett to 25 possesions or less is not a shabby acheivement to say the least.
Ablett scored 1 point in the fourth quarter, omst likely due to spending a fair bit of time on the bench.

Well I didn't see the game so I wouldn't know that, he did play at least a bit of the last quarter though.

That isn't really the point though, he impressed in Dream team terms. I would rather Geelong not get another good midfielder  :P

i read an article a few weeks ago I'm pretty sure it was on the afl website, that scott was looking to use hogan as his tagger. so i would assume hogan would take lings role as the primary tagger. i would say smeldts may get a few games with menzel still out of the team, and i would assume guthrie would slot into the back line with milburn gone.

last year horlin-smith and gutrie were considered, but over looked, this year they look more tempting, BUT DONT BE FOOLED! Geelong almost never play a rookie on a consintent basis, that why im going no were near Billy Smedts until maybe late season, Brad Scott's a tease he claims he likes all these "youngsters" but never really gives them a chance, how many young cats will you be taking?

Yes but Scott did give Menzel (before his injury) and Christensen plenty of gametime last season

It depends on how good the rookies are as to whether they will play. Geelong have had the luxury of blooding them slowly over the past few seasons but now with a few retirements I think they will have to look at giving the better youngsters more gametime.

Having  said that though the only rookies i'm considering from Geelong are the big O and Smedts (There's not too much in the way of other back rookies that excites me).

Yeah Ablett gave away like 3 free kicks in the last quarter and only played up fwd or the bench.

A couple of years ago a mature age rookie called James Podsiadly missed the first few rounds but after that became a regular in the strong Cats team and was a cash cow in fantasy terms.

I won't be ruling myself out from picking 1 or 2 cat rookies if they get selected come round 1. It all depends on who the premiums end up being as to which team my rookies come from.

Hogan will be on the watchlist. He's been around the traps for a few years and is one to consider given his price.
