Hi guys,

So at the time being i've got Goddard, Scotland, Deledio, Shaw, Clarke, Ellis, Bugg (Smedts, Lockyer).

I'm looking to get rid of either Deledio or Shaw and bring in a Sydney or Adelaide defender due to the bye in rd 13, and the easy start to year for Sydney and Adelaide.

I'm moving towards getting rid of Deledio and bringing in Malceski......but am open to any thoughts and opinions????

Cheers!!

There is no point suggesting anything to someone who wants to get rid of Lids

mt_williams22

Who would you suggest I get rid of instead?  Or should I just cop the 4 donuts in rd 13?

Shaw has the bye in round 12. The rookies are going to be gone by then. Just cop 1 donut. It's unavoidable.

I'll consider it and I guess see how Deledio's hamstring is going in the next 3 weeks.

Options to consider for Lids or Scotland are Enright, Broughton Adcock or Murphy all having Round 11 or Round 12 byes.

just cause they have easy games doesnt mean a defender will get more points( ball wont be in there back half too much),,,  also swans and crows dont have any outstanding backmen, rd.11 backs to consider would be adcock, hurn, or even if ya go hargrave or lake (they may become keeper/late upgrade type mid-price players)
my advice would be not to worry and just leave it with the big 4 u have now

I'd consider, am considering, Adcock. Last year big sauce (Merrett) was missing. With him back it shuffles the backline around & MAY free up Jed Viagra to move into the midfield more, more pre season needed though to make a better call.

Keep the backs you've got, a calculated donut won't do you any harm as your going to cop them either way. I definitely wouldn't consider Malceski by any stretch of the imagination.

i dont see the point with all this worry over lids. Look at how consistent he has been throughout his entire career and then consider he will be playing in the midfield this year something he has very rarely done for a player drafted as a midfielder. (when he was younger he played as a forward) also he had another ripping pre-season untill the very minor hamstring injury that is being very carefully monitored by the club just to make sure he is 100%. If he did this in the regular season i reckon he would have missed 1 week max, its very minor and they are being very careful with it. Lock him in, i would put big money on him averaging over 110 if i could.

Johncock?, Hurn?, Lids coming back from a minor soft tissue injury, You know all he has to do is over stretch and twang again ;-)

What doesnt lids do, not to score 110+? He gets alot of it uses it well, impacts the game can run and carry, can tackle, can get clearences, inside 50's, rebound 50's, kick goals and assist as well as take a contested grab. He is the new age midfielder who has been unlucky enough too start his career at a club that had no onfield or offield stabilty or support. That is rectified now and he is going to get way more midfield time this year and he will probably go un-tagged because Cotchin untagged will be a disaster for most teams.

Some people may not realise just how little Deledio has played as a midfielder during his career, when he was younger he was the number #1 midfielder at the tiges and got tagged out of games due to inexperience and an adolescent body. He was then moved forward as a leading forward by Terry Wallace  :-\ and then later moved to defense to help him get a better understanding for the defensive side of the game. When playing in the midfiled he has showed he can gather 35+ possesions and kick goals. Either one of Cotchin or Lids will avg 110+ maybe both? (unlikely both though but possible)
