Out for six weeks including first 2 weeks of comp.

Just when he was really about to benefit from first full pre season.  Feel for Maguire as well.

i don't want him to change the way he plays completely but surely at this stage with his age he has to look at it as an issue??  :(

that is bad luck, hope he recovers well and then smashes it again

Was the first time it really happened last year, I think it's more bad run of luck than too old. If it was because he was too crazy would have happened when he was younger too IMO.

Just shows how hard and serious J. Brown is, even at training. Whoa Jonny.

Hope you're talking about smashing the comp and not his face again :P

This may put a slight damper on that action;

" Sports physician Dr Peter Larkins said with the amount of metal still in Brown's face, he doubted the Lions star would be out for only weeks and he was possibly looking at a recovery period of months. He said that while Brown's courage wasn't doubted, he needed to start playing smarter"
Dr Larkins is well regarded in Qld so it is interesting side professional opinion to official club statements.

I find all this talk about Brown needing to play smarter a bit bemusing  :o

Yes the incident against Geelong last season was reckless when he ran back into the pack, however the first one against Freo (McPharlin) and yesterday's incident were both unlucky football incidents that could have happened to anyone. Neither of them were because of Brown being reckless.

The incident yesterday, he was standing in a marking contest and Maguire jumped over him to spoil and kneed him in the face. The way Brown plays didn't contribute to it at all.

Yes he may have to stop running back into packs because of all the metal in his face, but some are making it sound like he caused it himself.
