Not sure how many people have worked this out yet...but the top 3 defenders of last year have byes in round 13...

Not only that expanding a bit further 8 out of the top 10 backmen of last year have byes in round 13...

Only Heath Shaw and Corey Enright are the two out of the top 10 players not to have the bye,
1. Goddard  2. Scotland  3. Delidio  4. Fisher  5. Newman  6.Birchall  7.Bock  8.Carrazzo have rd 13 byes...

A bit pissing off but what are peoples strategies, cop a doughnut, use of DPP players or trade???

Top midfielders are generally in rnd 12 bye....so its even worse.

This is basically why people are saying we have to cop at least 2 donuts via the byes.  The Pure maths with 4 Rucks dictates 2 donuts.

However if your team structure allows set it up so that no more than 2 of your prems have the bye in the same round - Plenty of combinations around that can give you that eg my prems with bye rounds in brackets:
Def: Goddard (13) Delidio (13) Shaw (12) R Murphy (11)
Mids: Ablett (13) Andrew Swallow (11) Selwood (12) Barlow (12)
Forwards: Franklin (13) Rioli (13) Goodes (12) Sidebottom (12) Brown (11)

Strategy behind set up better to cop a rook donut than a prem donut.

I guess but there are soo many midfielders that average 110+ that there is enough premiums to choose from but only 8 defenders averaged over 95 last year..., forget the 110+ that middys get.  Hopefully it will be a better year for defenders.

That kinda makes sense although a rookie doughnut and a premium doughnut are equivalent, you have one scoreless player for that round. But that extra 50ish points that the prem does make over the rookie could come in handy...
But by creating your team in that manner you may sacrifice a few points in the first half of the season to cover for the byes...is it worth it? You may cop a doughnut form a prem but possibly make it up during the year...
