not considering half of them were uncontested maybe more coming out of defence but if he stood out to you great, i don't think he set the world on fire or did anything amazing..... just caught the ball and kicked it ....

Colli, DT is about possessions and mostly kicks, Marking and Kicking is what every DT'er wants from their Backmen, The more kicks and marks u get the more points you get, simple really.  :P

ok so he was impressive then  ::)  i never said he was no good for DT i said he didnt stand out. buddy stood out, there is a difference a massive difference imo between playing in a manner which makes you "stand out" and playing and scoring DT points.

What are you talking about?? lol. This is DT; the excitable manner in which players accumulate their stats is completely irrelevant. What else is Birchall supposed to be doing than racking up stacks of uncontested possessions? He most def stood out/consolidated my selection of him.

With Conca possibly out of the equation. What does everyone think about Jake Batchelor as a possible cheapish smokie that will get games. He didnt set the dt world on fire, but as a player i think he is a gun. I think he will show some big improvements this year.

I think Colli is looking at an football based perspective. While Birch did well for DT his overall impact on the game was really quite minimal.

lol LE never mind 3 times trying to explain the terminology i used "stood out" is more than enough, i'll let it go now :)

the funny thing is the bulk and the point of my original comment on this thread was about the manner in which the hawks move the ball out of defence being DT gold and "can we afford NOT to have hawks in our def"

pending games/game time i like to use a factor to calculate the rate of scoring. For instance buddy got 106 from 2 80mins a normal match ranges around the 120min mark so hence he was on track for 106 times 1.5 = 159. if a player was only in one like a gibson 27 times 3 = 81pts just a gage i use
