Was on dreamteamtalk website and read a article suggesting you could win your league by sacrificing losing round 11 by stacking your side with r11 bye players. I think you might win r12 and r13 but with the lack of quality r11 backs and forwards i think you might get smashed in the majority of your other league matches. I dont rate this outlandish idea. Think if i was to suck up any donuts it would be in R12 as they in general have the best forwards and mids.

rd.11 bye premiums are a little thin  mids and ruck would be fine,, but other lines would be hard
mids u could go  boyd/rockliff/thompson/swallow etc. ruck  bergers/cox/goldy/hmac etc..
gets to backs and forwards..adcock/hurn/waters/grima..  adams/brown/dangermouse/harvey  it starts getting ugly
for league though, does it really matter if ya drop a game here or there. only have to make top 8 with trades left

I wrote a comment under Monty's Article "Bad Bye Buddy" sometime ago saying that loading up on round 12 players was the best option for league and throwing one round.
(The article doesnt seem to be working at the moment for me)

But the top of my team you could have a team consisting of

Shaw, Heppell, Broughton, Duffield, Enright Grimes
Swan, Pendlebury, Selwood, Barlow, Watson, Stanton
Mumford, Sandi
Cloke, Beams, Sidebottom, Johnson, Chapman, Pav, Goodes

This is a side that would be competitive in the rounds before the multi team byes, you could still have the must have like Ablett, Goddard, Franklin but just limit them.

The aurthor of the Dreamteamtalk article was trying to take advantage that teams would most likely be fielding near full strength side in round 11 and thought that this would be the round to throw. But definitely round 12's the one to do it with

Agree with you 100%. This was my initial thoughts. R12 players r the go. I have gone for a r12 side but have not overload on em to a extreme. The chances r you will have donuts no matter what strategy you have. I plan to have 2 or 3 in round 12. But ill have a few premos in r13 like god lids ablett buddy but still plan to field a r13 full team.

I've went through the byes a few times, unless you do the Dual position thingy with the Rucks you going to cop 2 Donuts (that's if all your team plays too)

So planing around this ill be coping a Round 12 midfield donut and a round 13 defenders donut (simply too many good options in both areas and its going to happen anyways)
My strategy that I've come up with will use 4 trades throughout multi-team bye and i'll have 4 donuts throughout (2 in round 12 and 2 in round 13)

previous comments are correct round 12 would be the round to load up on and undertake this "outlandish strategy"  ;D love that

for me throwing a bye round wont change a damn thing in getting you into the league finals... its only one round. even if you ignore the byes and lose all 3 rounds, that wont keep you out of your league finals on its own.

I say to win your league you hold as many trades as possible for security but you make the best team you possible can ready for league finals. you have to win enough to make the finals along the way but your whole focus is not on round 1 or 12 it is on the finals and building a team that can win them.
