Here's my latest following first weekend of NAB:

BACKS: Goddard (MID), Fisher, Newman, Adcock, Heppell, Bugg, Morris (L Brown (MID), Wilkes)

MIDS: Pendlebury, Ablett, Murphy, Zorko (FWD), Miles, J Allen (DEF) (Gibson, Neale)

RUCKS: Jacobs, McEvoy (Giles, Stepehnson)

FWDS: Franklin, Goodes (MID), Chapman (MID), Sidebottom (MID), Brown, Smedts (DEF), Hampton (MID) (Treloar (MID), Kerridge (MID))

Cash in bank: $78,400

Definitely preferring the 3 gun, 3 rookie mid option.

We will all get 2 donuts minimum during bye rounds so If I have worked it out properly then there are no problems with having 3 prems from the same bye round if they are only on one line. For example it is fine to have 3 prem backs from round 13 byes and 3 prem fwds from round 12 byes. Feel free to tell me otherwise but explain your rationale..

Thoughts on this team?

The Supercoach

i actually really like the look of this team.

Backs : Very solid, adcock only risk but may have a good season

Mids: The 3 gun 3 rookie is risky but u seem pretty set on it and i wont argue that

Rucks: Very Nice

Fwd: Look very good, chappy risky and brown and sidebottom are also risky but atm there both in  my team  ;)

9/10, not really anything to fault, just a few risks that evry team needs to have.

Ringo

Backs: Sound -
Mids: 3/prem 3 rook strategy you are set on.  Just need to ensure you get the right rookies that you can cash in early to upgrade,
Rucks. OK
Forwards Very Sound as well.

Have a different bye strategy that you may have picked up in previous posts. My team is sound and will only have 2 prems from each line with bye in same week. Team is set that way at the moment.  Although we have to take donuts my reasoning it is better for a rookie to score 0 than a prem if looking for overall. eg I have 3 defenders each say scoring 100 I am down 300 points for the round whereas if I have 2 Def and a rookie, who may only scoring 70 points, in the round will only be down 270 points. So I pick up 30 points which may be a bit of difference to overall or may get you over the line in league match.

Team Rating overall 8.5/10

I had that exact same theory earlier on Ringo and there certainly is merit in what you are saying but don't you think that our teams will lose more points during the first 11 rounds of the season by not having 3 guns from the same bye round on one line as oppose to making sure we have a maximum of 2.

It's clear to see that the majority of the best backline players come from the round 13 byes and the best forwards come from the round 12 byes.

The difference between having a rookie or a prem on the pine for round 12 and 13 would most likely be 50 points for each week so 100 points total. I think the points lost for not having 3 guns in the one line for both the round 13 backs and round 12 forwards for the first 11 rounds of the season will be a lot more.

What do you think?

Ringo

I really liked it when i was developing my byes strategy. Thoughts were if I could minimise the points loss for byes and still have strong team could perhaps pick up 100 or more points.

Here is my team at the moment with bye rounds for prems in brackets and I do not see it dropping too many points in the first 10 rounds imo. (others may differ),
DEF: B. Goddard,(13)  B. Deledio, (13) H. Shaw, (12) R. Murphy, (11) B. Lake, (11)T. Mohr, S. Morris (B. Smedts, B. Wilkes)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, (13) A. Swallow, (11) J. Selwood, (12) M. Barlow, (12)  S. Clifton, D. Shiel (L. Brown, D. Zorko)
RUC: Z. Smith, (13) M. Leuenberger  (11) (J. Giles, O. Stephenson)
FWD: C. Rioli, (13) L. Franklin, (13) A. Goodes, (12) S. Sidebottom, (12) J. Brown, (11) A. Treloar, H. Crozier (S. Rowe, T. Couch)
Trades will be made to achieve my desired team also looking at byes.
