Is a rookie listed player for Melbourne. He ranked number one in the VFL for disposals last year (averaging 30 possessions over his 18 games, in fact he collected over 25 possessions in all but one of these games which shows he is consistent). He had the most contested possessions (34 more then the next best player) and the most clearances (23 more then the next best) out of everyone in the VFL last year. He won Sandringham's best and fairest award in 2011. A kick to handball ratio of pretty much 1:1 and averaged a huge 4.9 tackles per game. He scored 6 goals and 5 points in 18 games. Did I mention he is 24 years old? This guy looks a gem, but is on the rookie list at this stage. I think Melbourne is allowed to elevate a rookie to the senior list before season start but I am not at all sure about that (can anyone confirm that?). For $85 000 (MID) he is at least worth a look. If elevated do you think there is room in melbourne's best 22?

They can elevate a rookie if they have a player on the vets list. Green is the only one I think

They can elevate a rookie when they place a player on the seniors list, onto the LTI (long term injury) list. Grimes :)

Thanks for the post and I'll be interested to find out if he has a chance of being elevated because he looks GOOD!

Problem is they have EVans, Nicolson and couch all rookie listed already.

The Melb rookies sound better than most of their main list. :o

Magner also trained with the Saints before the draft.
If he is elevated he will get games. (without Tom Scully, there midfield doesn't look that great)

i've had him on my watch list since last week, when i was looking at Melbourne's list.

lol ... Nice 1 Fuzz will keep an eye on him hopefully he gets some games in the Nab and gets elevated at some stage
