Which combination would you pick?

Franklin & Gaff?
Montagna & J. Brown?

Currently I have Montagna as my 4th mid and J. Brown as my 4th mid. but am considering going with Gaff instead of Joey and using that cash to get Franklin? For arguments sake, Joey and Franklin could MAYBE earn similar scores. That then leaves Brown who could average around 90ish - the same as Gaff??? (AND WITHOUT AS MUCH INJURY RISK!) Any thoughts are welcome  :)

why is everybody saying brown is more injury prone. his "injuries" last year are not injuries that wreck your form, they were freak incidents.

If you're willing to select both Brown and Gaff why not select them both and use the cash elsewhere.  They both represent value to me.

Buddy is a great selection, but he's unlikely to improve on his average a great deal.  I won't be selecting him from the  start.  Montagna could improve quite a bit this year as he didn't have a great year last year, but I think there are better value options out there.

I think the argument against Brown and his injuries isn't due solely to last years injuries (as you said, they were freak accidents) more that he is that he is a warrior. Meaning he does get injured and due to his extreme importance to Brisbane's attack, he plays through those injuries that tend to take down less required players  - which in turn lowers his scoring. This is his first pre-season since '01 (from memory) which in itself shows he often is carrying issues. However this new fitness and freedom from injury could show and increase in scoring potential. Also, he does turn 31 this year.
