This is probably the area that im struggling with most, i seem to have 4 forwards that might not even play very often.

So who do you guys think will be a (fairly) regular forward cheapie in their respective teams?

Presto

Amongst the rookies I would say Zorko and Smedt. Also look at player coming back from injury like Gumbleton and Porplyzia

nichsa673

Dont look at Gumbleton, not a scoring player, Porplyzia might be alright. If you mean middle priced, I'd go for Christensen and Brown, but for rokkies, Zorko, Smedts, Saad, Milera, Rowe will all get games.

FisherSaints

Zorko, Saad will score 60-70 possibly more. Jump on them

Gday Purple , 1stly , what 4 FWDS do you have that you have doubts on ?

I was tinkering around with my fwd line this morning & ended up showing Stevie J & Saad the exit just to see what that opened up . Ended up bringing in J Brown and J Porplyzia . Both been in the back of my mind for a while & they seem to sit well in my fwds ( Buddy - Zaharakis - D.Martin - J Brown - J Porplyzia - T Walsh - D Zorko - S Rowe - S Clifton ) .

Porplyzia priced to average around 40 >> 45 . All going well he should make some handy $$'s in a canter & post some decent scores on your field . ( all going well ) . Take last year out of the equation & durability looks pretty good .

I see a Purpose for the Porpoise .

Good Luck tinkering around .

rooks- hayes, tomlinson, hampton, treloar, smedts, saad, falau, smith, cameron (may be kpp which means NO), I Think get games early

rooks - sexton, rowe, kerridge, dickson, walsh, pfieffer, I Think get games but maybe later...

Mid Pricers worth having and there are soooo so many more than this but my faves,

Solid Risks --- Porps, Windy, Matera,Brown,Christensen, dangermouse,
Danger Risks --- Fasolo,Ebert,Varcoe,Kozi (cringe),cornes,sherminator,JRoo

I'll stop there but theres obviously a lot I left out and a lot more between the likes of Brown and the 400K mark.

And don't jump all over me I threw those Danger Risks in, in the hope of stimulating conversation and maybe dragging out some other risky smokie options :)

Good call Colliwobbler , nothing like opening the thinking up a bit . Thought i'd throw another couple in :

1) Tom Hawkins - could ramble on & on with this one , but jeez you'd love to see a few more 2011 GF ( shades of W.Carey , IMHO only !! ) performances like that , will be keeping a bit of a closer eye on him in 2012 just to see if he can become relevant , really relevant . There are signs , no where near often enough to date . I'd really love to know if the '11 GF was some kind of making , time'll tell .

2) Luke Breust - another I'll be following , but just one of those that grabbed my attention on occasions last year & may just have a bit of that X factor about him that's hard to ignore . Added bonus , he belongs to a top 4/5 club at the moment .

No crime in thinking a bit laterally , these names bandied around may never make your side , but you'd be short changing  yourself if you didn't at least vaguely consider them .

Well, I had Tom Walsh, Sam Kerridge, Tom Couch, Jason porplyzia and Billie Smedts, and im starting to think they might not be rated enough to push through their respected teams' line ups.

Im getting a little turned off porpus atm, but without him, and say someone like pfieffer instead, it gets me even more concerned that i wont be able to put a starting 7 every week (excl. rounds 11-13).

Im not changing couch, I've said from the start that he will be the supercoach bargain of the year. Im a melb supporter and i strongly believe he can step inside the melbourne fragile but talented midfield and make an instant impact, especially since he's 23. Also, is an MPP.

Colliwobblers

hawkins and bruest are good calls worth looking at.

As for concern about rooks, don't you can pick the ones that you havent decided on during nab cup when the teams go up ahead of round 1. We should get the rooks right enough by the first bounce of the season.

Now Couch, time to research, i like a tip and you've given me one. Was just talking about the dee's and how things will change with scully out and clark in, will be an interesting deeson :)

Didds70

+1 on Couch , worth a look , unknown to me also . Melbourne on the whole don't really rate if various the various forums/blogs are any guide .

NAB not far off now .

PS : Jed Lamb ( Syd ) will be another I'll be looking for in coming weeks . Read pretty well 12 months ago but went off the radar all together , not sure why , LTI or just couldn't crack into the 22 .

Walsh will get game time, not sure if he deserves it, but he will at least get the chance to score some points.

charliesheen

Lot of Walsh band wagons.  Not really sure he will be in my team, but will watch with interest.
