man, I would have gotten it if it'd been like 20... 40 though...

I dont think so. I could buy a case for that amount.

and drunkenly make awesome trade choices again :P

A cheer for you, that was funny. I think someone has spiked my drink cause im laughing my butt off tonight.

On a serious note, Dudge bought it a couple of years back when it was about $30 i think. It's a good book if your
stats mad and would like a good reference for said stats but as far as Fantasy Footy goes Dudge found it of little benefit
and youd need to buy it year in year out to be of value as a stats reference. Not worth the money was his words.

It's really interesting to see how many people found it of little use.

I found it to be invaluable come pre-season, gave me some great insights on upcoming players, current player trends, statistics that aren't readily available, team analysis etc. The book basically (in a nutshell) tells you how the players are scoring their points (possession counts, contested/uncontested possession, accuracy, 1%'ers etc), that's a very powerful tool to have. Even during the season, it's still very helpful.

IMO, if you are serious about Fantasy Football (not stats crazy), it's more than worth the money. Or even if you're just an AFL-nut, it's a great read.

If you feel it is a little pricey though, then join Pro-Stats. That has a similar wealth of statistics (probably greater, as its game-by-game, not season averages), but no information about upcoming players, Fantasy Freako's assessments, the in depth team analysis, etc. It's $20 for the year and it also updates after every game. I've got that too and it's amazing value.

I had the trial of SC Gold and didn't find it that helpful, as I already had better information and statistics available on hand.  :)

But each to their own, I guess.

Dudge did say that's the biggest benefit he found with it was with the rookies ie up and coming players. Most of the info i need i can find online if i feel the need to. I personally wouldn't invest in SC Gold or the DT equivalent which name escapes me either. Most of it from using the free trial this year (DT) you can source or work out for yourself with a bit of extra effort.

I picked one up for free. :P I personally think it's worth more than $40. It's a pretty good read first time around, but it should be pretty similar for the next seaosns too.

The F.A.R.K.

It is useful but not for us. It has all the stats and research we do on here everday. If you didnt have fan footy or similar sites that is what people would use. It is handy but because all of it is avaliable on here it isnt neccesary. Also the prospectus isnt made just for dt it is used for statisticians, media and stuff like that. i.e the guy on spots tonight would live off it because he can get all of the players stats as well as a paragraph on him.

I picked one up fairly cheap at one of those cheap book stores last year a few weeks before the season started i think it was like $19.95

I love stats, and it looks awesome as it's the first time i'm reading it. But i can see how through the years some of the things will get repetitive and thus lowering it's value in my case.

Windigo

I've never had it.

So I decided to buy one. Mainly out of curiosity.

It's pretty good. You discover players you would never have picked unless you actually saw them play.

The F.A.R.K.

like david mackay hahaha

can someone tell me the junior stats for these players (if you have the 2012 book)

Lincoln McCarthy (geel)
Ben Darrou (wb)
Taylor Adams (gws)
