Is it wise to have those two in my defence seeing as they both play for the same team? Or are there better alternative combination's.

love4thegame

nothin wrong with that at all they are both quality high possesion backs and will do your team well!

I think you could make a case to have an all St Kilda back line. that may sound stupid, but it could work.

Goddard-GUN
Fisher-GUN
Gram- Should improve and be a good option at his price
R.Clarke- Last 4-6 games of last year were excellent, proved he has alot of potential. IIRC averaged somewhere around 90
Gilbet- Last year was an off year, compared to the year before when he averaged 70 od, last year he had to play more of a 1 on 1 defending role as Maguire was out. With maguire back Gilbet will play forward or even on the wings and should lift his average to 70+
Fisher- Has had an outstanding preseason and is dirt cheap. If he returns to good form he could be a great pick up, will get midfield time.
Maguire- Very cheap, Coming off an injury, before the injury was close to AA defender, if he can return to this form, he'll be very handy.

That doesnt look like too bad of a backline to me.
2 Guns
1 player who's close to gun
2 players who will improve
2 players who are dirt cheap and could be good pick ups.

So for mine, the saints offer a great range of players in defence this year, and you should look at selecting any number of these guys.

An all St.kilda backline eh?
Seems a little rich for me.
What about an all WC midfield?
Priddis, Kerr, Emberly, Rosa, Masten, Ebert.
I don't think so.
Goddard and Fisher in the same backline works for me.
But that's about it.

GILLOTINE

Im definetly not having an all St Kilda back line either. What im saying is, they have good options for all price ranges. You should look at each of those players, even if you dont pick them, at least consider.

I get your point Gillotine and the available options at different price ranges.
But if I had to consider L. Fisher and McGuire for my dream team then I'm not planning on going too far.
Sorry mate, I know your a saints man but they are really terrible in terms of DT scoring potential.
The saints smokies I'll be watching are Gilbert as mentioned, think he can get near a 70 average this year and Kosi to lift his game back to the scores he was acheiving in 05?, around the 90s from memory.

GILLOTINE

as much as i hate to admit it, i have given up on kosi to get back to that form, we all know he has the potential but he just doesnt seem to be able to reach good form and keep it, sometimes he will have a good game but then the next week he will have a shocker.
Wouldnt really consider L fisher myself, just putting it out there. I think Maguire is a possibility as there isnt much value in the back rookies and he is cheap. He could average 70 much like gilbert and hes 80k cheaper.

i have s.fisher and goddard in my team atm

I've currently got Fisher & Godard in my team too, but I'm still considering dropping Goddard for someone else, maybe Embley or Hodge.

If your only gonna have one, let it be Goddard.
