I have mixed feelings about this guy. Was a good player in '07, but now his game doesnt really fit into the Hawks game style. In 2012 how will he go? Will he get many games?

Don't agree. Was injured and unfit in the second half of last season. Hard runner which will mean he has a role to run into space when countering quickly.

Are some younger players that can play a similar role which means he isn't an automatic selection though. Has to earn his spot.

Isaac Smith does what he does, but Smith has better kicking efficiency

Usman

he was probably the biggest reason why Hawthorn lost the prelim to Collingwood. So many crucial errors at crucial stages of the game. i wont say he is past it yet but i could see why others would it was a shocking game for him.

As does Savage and to a lesser extent Cyril. There is more than one spot for that role in the side. Based on recent form, he isn't ahead of either Savage or Smith and I don't think he ever seemed fit enough (injury and match fitness) to be picked in the finals.

Given the injuries he has last season though, not enough to rule him out by any stretch. A good pre-season and he could be back to his best, which would see him in the 22.

the flying hawk

Chance Bateman is past his prime he is 31 this year and it is showing my opinion he should of retired because the hawks have younger players who will take his spot like smith cheney, breust and puoppolo. I think it is time to make him a forward because he is still very dangerous around goal but I wonder were his dreadlocks his footy skills :)

Hawka

Last season for Chance i think his spot is fast being taken over as prvious people have mentiod..But a great player for the footy club
