Definitely, choosing which premiums you are going to get is a vital decision in building your Supercoach team.

So here and now, choose which premiums you strongly believe you should NOT start with.

Also leave an reason if you wish.

This is just me, but I wanna stay away from too many peaked price premiums, eg. NDS, GAJ, Swan, Pendles, Goddard, Cox etc.
There really is only one way from there, DOWN.
And it only takes one average score to set those prices falling, allowing you to pick them up for much better value later in the season.

Having said that, if you don't have at least one, you'll be leaking points early (I myself will start with GAJ).
The trick is to have the right balance between not leaking points and price.

Interesting point, have a cheer! ;)

So who would then be the premiums who dont cost as much, but are still premium enough to get your points (applying your little concept here) ?

Find the ones who are cheap for some reason (injury, getting subbed off - Selwood, Watson), or players who are likely to improve their average and reach true midfield premium status (Dustin Martin, Redden) if you're looking to save some coin.

Ok well look at the mids, GAJ, Pendles, Swan, NDS. They range from $634k to $686k.
Mundy and Watson, were injured during a game, which brought their averages down, yet were up there with the best before those injuries. These guys are in the $560k's. You could potentially save up to $100k there and upgrade elsewhere.
Cox at $649k, Sandi was averaging pretty close to Cox's score before his injury, yet is $60k cheaper.
There plenty of options out there to choose from.

EDIT: meow put it much better than I.

Turkies

I agree with what you said, but GAJ and Swan both had a few injury affected games at least. GAJ had ~4 games at the start of the year where he scored 80-90 due to injury, and Swan had a few games where his score was down due to injury as well (before he headed to Arizona). They are underpriced.

Players to stay away from are the ones that had 0 injury or sub affected games, especially if there isn't much potential for growth.

Pendles didn't, but he's still young with good growth potential - that said i'm going to wait until he has a few down games.

CuStArDaRm

just a note half the listed players are not premiums, ie. Brogan, Hudson etc

Nice question non the less

Mumford, Fyfe, Franklin, Gaj, Deledio and J Selwood all currently, and are the only ones, on 0 votes!

Could be waiting a fair while on Pendles. Scored 19 consecutive hundreds last year from round 4 to round 24. His only game below 100 was in round 3 where he scored 94! :o
