Again North Melbourne is relegated to sundays and the lowest free to air coverage of any team only 8 games and only one friday night game. How are we suppose to get new members when north is only on tv eight times for the season.
It's absolute crap and do we here any noise about it from our board no.
We invented friday night footy and how many games do we get 1 and any more noise from the board no.
No wonder we are going backwards.

Really trying not to be harsh, but when North start winning games, they'll get TV coverage. Is harsh, but it's true. The Demons are in a similar position.

Dogs and Saints use to get fairly dodgy TV slots, but then they were top 4 for a few years and things changed.

Really like the North Melbourne team! Looking forward to those impressive youngsters delivering on potential!

James Brayshaw, our president has been a firm advocate of bringing more Friday night games and better TV-friendly timeslots to our club. He has always said that since North Melbourne were the pioneers of Friday Night Football, that we deserve more games. It is my understanding that the Brayshaw and Demetriou do have a gentlemen's agreement that if North make more finals, then more TV-friendly timeslots will be given to them, including Friday night games.

So noise is being made.

And we are far from going backwards mate. A young team on the rise, state-of-the-art training facilities, a debt reduction program...that's progress, not going backwards at all.

Agree with the two posts above me. Yes, I'm angry that we don't get more games on a Friday night or free to air, although tbh it's probably warranted. Once we become a top side, the TV ratings will come, but at the moment Channel 7 just want games that will get the most viewers....and we're not in that category atm.

Can't seem to find the full fixture, but Port Adelaide. Do we have more than 8 games or Free-to-air TV?? And i know for sure that we don't have a Friday night or Thursday night match.

I know how you guys feel, it sucks big time, but that's the AFL, all they want is money, money, money.

roo boys!

Port have 3 on Free-to-air.

Nah, you serious?? Only three games are by Channel 7?? Then backman, your first comment is wrong, unless you're not counting Port as a team. :D

im sure we will get better coverage in 2013 ;)

That's what it said on the AFL website..

Maybe the reason they aren't getting many free to air matches is because they are encouraging NM supporters to go to the games ???. Or maybe it's because NM aren't winning many games yet. Or maybe it's because the AFL are being stupid. I think it's a mix between the second and third choices. :P

It's not exactly winning games, it's the supporter base really. But of course if you are top 4/8 side then you have lots of supporters, it's a given really.

That's why i love the Swans being in a seperate state  :)

I get to watch all the games  :D

Get to see all Brissy away games live or slight delay.  My main beef however, and this will change next year, is that we always had to wait till arolund 11:30pm for friday night game on seven or 6:00am Saturday on mate.
Agree North have not got the ideal set up as I try to keep up with them as they were the Team I supported prior to Brisbane coming into the AFL and without Fox was extremely hard to see any North games on free to air.
Like the list and hope North will continue to climb up the ladder.
