Word on local news tonight was Port went for Renouf over Seaby because they were worried about Seaby's ankle injury issues and Renouf is younger.

Fair enough. I like Renouf as a ruckman, he cedrtainly hold's his own.
Hopefully, i say hopefully with lots of hope, he can lift Port off the bottom of the clearances table next year.

TheMailman

He should do ok helping Lobbe who was fairly impressive in 2010.

Don't know if it will result in more clearances though

That's a problem for the midfield more than the Ruckman

RiOtChEsS

rekn they might still be in the Griffin stakes as Clark has put his foot down with going to Freo

But they just picked up Renouf to help out in the ruck. Why would they need a third one?

Same Reason all clubs do

Plus White and Seaby can also serve as fowards to help Butcher progress
We have Renouf, Lobbe, and Redden. But redden hasn't played yet that's why you guys mention another player. We have three, and Redden is the tallest of them all!
Redden is bloody great. Seen him in SANFL many tumes but probably need some more mass and devlopment but he is good. Mcauley wouldn't hurt. He is probably par with redden. If lobbe or renouf go down port are screwed

Almost denfinately Bailey,

Hale is more of a Tall Foward/ Backup Ruck than the vice versa (Don't know if that makes sense)  :P

Fyfe_gun

Also Luke Lowden and Sam Grimely are coming up fast. Id compare Lowden to lebbe of 2012. He will get plenty of games and mainly as no.1 ruck depending on fitness of bailey. Lock for ruck bench maybe

hawk_88

Lowden has developed much faster the Grimely which wasn't initially expected.

I don't expect Roughy to ruck much after the achilles tendon injury.

Bailey's body held up very well across the year. Can't wait to see what another pre-season will do for him. Lowden is definitely behind Bailey in the ruck order, but decent backup. Don't expect to play more than one or two games unless Bailey goes down (which he won't.... touch wood!!).

Fyfe_gun

I reckon between bailey and hale one has to go down and then lowden will get games

hawk_88

Depends when one of them goes down (if they go down).

If Roughy has played 10 weeks of footy they might be more confident for him to take over some ruck duties before bringing in a full-time ruckman.

As the great Billy Birmingham used to say if you run off Renouf often enough, you'll score tries goals
