The dull part of the year looks to be exciting this year. Harvey sacked and Lyon quits.

Harvey sacked and Lyon quits, makes for a interesting off season. Rumour has it Lyon into Harvey's job.

Straight into the Freo job by the looks, as reported on the Footy Show. Who said the off season was going to be a bore.

:o Gz ya go to work on a quiet news day and bam, come home to Lyon to Freo Harvey sacked :o

Apparently Malthouse said 10 years ago that he would like to finish off his career at St Kilda, the place where it all started for him.

Now is his opportunity if he wants it, although the Saints board will have to pay him a little more than they paid Lyon.

i dont see it happening, other clubs will make better offers with better lists...

I wonder if Freo understand fully that they r putting all their chips into a 2 year window?

just look at The Saints list right now, aging starts and no real strong young players a rebuild scenario...

True re Malthouse, but it depends on how much time he'll be given to rebuild. Look at what he did the Pies.

I think you have to realise that Freo IMO would be a Top 4 side if it weren't for their injuries, so the 2 year window is pretty fair IMO. Perhaps they think it is a 4 year window?

RiOtChEsS

yeah i agree with the window, i just hope they realize what his effect is on lists...

he inherits a good team and bails on it before it falls apart...

the exact opposite of Harvs who made good with so many kids and made that club so much better, good fit for Melbourne imo

Luigi197

But don't you think Freo were lucky with the players they gathered from the drafts? (Lower, Barlow etc.)
I think Harvey has done a magnificent job in building the team even with injuries.

Yeah, Lyon did some building with Saints, but i dont think there is much more than he can do for the Freo FC, and now the Saints are most likely gonna lose all their progress they made with Lyon?

ajjewell

I think Lyon could tell the progress had stopped this year, that's why he got out of there let someone else do the hard work and clean up the mess he has made of their list
