So GWS and the Swans are playing on their own, a stand alone game the week before everyone else does. Will they give partial lockout to selecting your team or just to captain/vice captain and your bench? Given the way they're doing the byes I don't trust them to not shaft us by making us have our team selected prior to the first game when we only know 2 teams. Anyone seen anything in writing as to how they're handling it?

They'll do partial lock-out. Probably two of them because of the Thursday night game.

Partial lockout = captain manipulation = happy SC'ers

Speculator

I'd prefer it if they forced us to pick our squads a week early. That would really sort the men from the boys. Will never happen though.

2 partial lockouts it will be,can only see giles & james macdonald & shiel entering my radar from these 2 clubs,im not picking early round draft picks so that excludes most of gws,im not picking 600k ruckman so that excludes mummy,im not going with mostly disappointing high priced c/f dpp like goodes okeefe pav chappy etc so that cuts out the half decent swans-nah i doubt i will be scoring much from game 1 of round 1

Won't be able to do captain shenanigans if you don't have any donuts, and if you have a round 1 donut you're doing it wrong.

was about to make a scathing comment, but I realise what you're saying.

unless you happen to be in a similar position to those who owned drew petrie round 1 last year? If you've got a suspended player, then s'all good :P

Just nominate a vice captain only, if he has an acceptable score do nothing otherwise nominate a captain out of the remaining players. This is only possible in round 1, did it this season.

Was about to say that myself before reading your post. You are quite right, all you do is don't bother nominating a captain until after that first match ;)

Ringo

eg Nominate Goodes as VC and if he scores in excess of 120 then put the C on a non playing player ensuring you have him covered by a sub who is playing. Worked last year.

Ziplock

I dont have goodes. I'll be using the captain loophole with tom mitchell :P

Yeah but for the first round you don't need to name anyone as captain if Goodes scores a score you are happy with ;)
