Alright guys, I need some assistance with finishing off my team. Here it is at the moment (Injured premiums on the bench):

BACKS: Deledio, Goddard, Grundy, Broughton, Heppell, Duigan, Puopolo (Adcock, Strauss, Stanley)

MIDS: Ablett, Swan, Thompson, Redden, Cross, Mzungu (Hibberd, Bewick, Irons)

RUCKS: Cox, Petrie (Sandilands, Gawn)

FWDS: Franklin, Pavlich, Goodes, Sylvia, Green, Higgins, N Riewoldt (Darling, Matera, Richardson)

10 trades left. $276,300 in the bank.

I'm keeping Adcock as a premium back and also keeping Heppell as my 7th back. I reckon he'll bounce back soon. I'm also keeping N Roo and praying that he comes good soon.

My plan this week is to trade out Bewick for Pendlebury so then my mids are set. To do that I will need to do a downtrade. So i'm thinking to make the most cash I will trade out Duigan for say, Golby. It doesn't really matter who I bring in because I have good bench cover in my backs.
This will leave me with roughly $80k and 8 trades so I was thinking the following week I will trade out Stanley for a final premium down back between the $380k - 400k price range. Any ideas of who to go with?
Then I reckon my team will be set with 7 trades left.
What do you think of the plan. Any better alternatives? All your opinions would be welcomed. Cheers guys.

Franklin and NRoo will be out this week.

Wait and see if Matera & Gawn is named, your trades will revolve around that.

For a future back downgrade X Clarke from Brisbane may be an option as Voss has said he will be returning either this week or next for only his second game for Lions so if you only want a D10 with Def/Mid link he may be an option

Yeah I've noticed that but I'm happy to cop a 0 in the fwd line this week. If I made a trade in the fwd line this week it would completely stuff up my plan. Plus the rookie I bring in will probably get a 50 at best as there is not much on offer at the moment. I'm really hoping that Matera or Richardson are named to avoid the donut.

In order for me to afford a premium like H. Shaw or Newman down back then I'll need to do a tradedown in my backs for the extra cash i.e Duigan/Stanley. Trading out Matera just wont make me enough cash to get a decent premium defender next week.

Are you going for league or overall?

I still think you can avoid the donut without compromising your plan too much.

Callinan is another potential downgrade target in a few weeks.

I'm going for league. Sitting 3rd at the moment. Yeah was thinking about Callinan but I think I will still need to get him down back to free up enough cash for my final premium defender.

How do you think I can avoid the donut without comprimising my plan too much?

charliesheen

will have to see who is named first.

you might be better of compromising and getting someone like hodge instead of pendlebury

bewick definitely has to go

Id also consider downgrading Darling/Matera to Joel Tippet, and swapping petrie forward. Averagin 95ish and could cover your rucks and forwards, specially with sandi coming back possibly. Gives you a bit more flexibility. Then could upgrade someone in your mids or def which looks a little weaker

Wow didn't think of that. Total change of plan now. I can now use Petrie as a FWD which will free up one of my FWD/MIDS to remain in the mids.
Only downside to my plan is no Pendlebury. So many upsides though.

This week:
In: J Tippett, H Shaw
Out: Matera, Duigan

Next week:
In: S Fisher
Out: Stanley

Final team with 7 trades left and 90k in the kitty:

BACKS: S Fisher, Deledio, Goddard, H Shaw, Grundy, Broughton, Adcock (Heppell, Puopolo, Strauss)

MIDS: Ablett, Swan, Thompson, Pavlich, Redden, Cross (Hibberd, Bewick, Irons)

RUCKS: Cox, Sandilands (Gawn, J Tippett)

FWDS: Franklin, Sylvia, Goodes, Petrie, Higgins, N Riewoldt, Green (Darling, Mzungu, Richardson)

Thoughts?

Thats what I was thinking, but it really needs Sandilands or Gawn to be named, so just wait for the teams to be released.
