Has he turned the corner? At 290K he could be a good pickup considering everyone has jumped off him and doesn't appear to being forward anymore and is back playing his usual role.

Montag

i dont think so. st.kilda have won their last two so scores have improved across the whole team but i still think they will send gilbert back into the fwd line

hardnut

too early to say, i'd rather pay 30k more in few weeks and be sure he's back

What I will say, is that the Saints have turned the corner. They were hungry yesterday and their fringe players stood up and put in good performances. Dwilt, Dempster, Steven and Peake all had good games and their kids look alright.

The Saints season isnt lost yet, and neither is Sam Gilberts.

Ziplock

to be fair, fremantle is ridiculously injury ravaged atm, and melbourne who they beat last week are just pathetic.

Although, if you want my honest opinion, it was confidence rather than form that was keeping the saints down, a couple of wins like that could see them fire into the top 8 :P

:-X

Confidence and form are intrinsically linked Zip. Cant have one without the other IMO.

Ziplock

what I meant, was it wasn't because they didn't have skills, it was the confidence holding them back.

I've had this kid all year but if I didn't, I would definitely get him this week. He has the capacity to score well consistently with the odd outlier (super-high or low score), and it looks like the Saints defence have remembered how to play the game recently so I think it's just about time to make the call.

Bluke

Fair enough, I agree skill is independent but is affected by

I agree... I read the Lyon and Gilbert had a talk and they've realised he just isn't suited to the forwrd structure they need. They need their midfield to kick goals, not Gilbert. Gilbert asked to be moved back into defence and since then he has done a run with Judd role 65, a 92 and what he had yesterday. at 290K, he is a bargain.
