I could give you a reason to get him but could give you more reasons not to.

Please do go on Fenno...
Pros: low breakeven, good JS, no more byes.
Cons: Costs 25/30k more than most other rookies. Thats 25/30k that could be used elsewhere. Will end up avearging the same as those other rookies that are 25/30k cheaper (he scored his 2 scores against poor teams), He may have no more byes but unlike a player like Mzungu he will most likely get rested like every other Gold Coast player has been, Basicly why would you want to pay 25/30k more for a player that will average the same as someone cheaper. Has everyone forgotten how good Mzungu was pre-season and the fact he didn't even have to go through the WAFL shows he is best 22. Think about it 30k is a fair bit you will get an average player for 370k but could get yourself a gun for 400k. People will say yea but he will make more money in the end (a) you shouldn't be trading him out again because by rd 15 thats the earliest you could trade him you should have your team set and if your team isn't set other rookies you have could be traded instead. (b) A player that is cheaper will make just as much as he will.

Brilliant write-up, I'd go as far as saying you've covered every relevant angle to the trade in a general sense (i.e. not taking anyone's team in particular into consideration). I think you've hit it on the head in point a). While Lynch will go up a fair bit early, he could well be tough to off-load particularly if you don't have many trades. Who to downgrade him to, how will you upgrade him when other cash cows will have peaked and forward lines are already getting stacked?

Going personally on my situation, I've got Darling, Matera, and Tapscott. Darling & Matera have great fixtures after this weekend and reachable b/e's, so I don't want to off-load them yet - Darling effectively covers Petrie who's covering Sandilands. As such, with no one else realy to sell, I'll just upgrade Tapscott to Chapman and bring in the dual position downgrades (for me, Smith & Callinan) who can do far more for me off the bench than Lynch.

If you were in a position to start Tom Lynch, maybe a different story. But if you're needing to start him over the next few weeks, I don't want to see the rest of your forward line!
Im exactly the same would rather grab Smith or Callinan instead

got the same problem fenno. getting rid of tappy, but i think he's way too pricey and like you said most of the suns get a couple of games rest sooner or later. i'll wait till tendai is on the bubble.

Same here. Price is what I'm worried about....

If I.Smith was named, it would make things so much simpler.

But him not named leaves me with doubts about whether he will come back.

Ladson? WTF?

Grazz

At this point a cash cow only and at a perfect time for me so im jumping on.
I expect him to score below par this weekend V the Cats but not a real drama
what forwards score above avg versus the Cats anyway, not to many.
Mzungu wil come in next week but for different reasons this guy im counting on
as a keeper but will also inject some cash by doing the trade.

As long as you're not relying on him playing, I think Smith can be bought this week if you need a forward downgrade. I wouldn't have his non-inclusion weigh in on your decision to get Lynch or not. I only see myself needing 2 downgrades in my forward line so I'm confident not getting Lynch won't hurt me. Others may be in a different situation.

atm he is a good foward downgrade option for a tapscott, mckernan  or a richardson
he is averaging high, he plays for gold coast and has an extremely low be. you can sit on the fence and say im not getting him or you can jump on and hope like hell he becomes a barlow (or curnow without the shoulder)

personally i have got him. made me 70k after trading out tapscott and i belive he will average in 80s hopefully. if all goes wrong i got 70k out of it and he can sit on my bench for rest of year
