at what point is all overall hope lost?

slipped from ~600th to ~900th last week. about 800 points off the top. is my goose cooked at this point in the year?

i'm considering a couple of POD trades to try and jump up the rankings if things go my way, but they could be worthless and end up costing me my leagues too (which were my aim at the start of the year).
