So my current conundrum is whether to bring in Swan and Boyd or Swan and Suckling (or perhaps Boyd/Suckling?). I'm only concerned with league.

My current lineup is:

Backs - Goddard, Gibbs, Shaw, Deledio, Adcock, Heppell, Lower (Smith, Toy, Otten)

Mids - Mitchell, A. Swallow, J. Selwood, Curnow, D, Swallow, Liberatore, (Iles, M. Hibberd, Harris)

Rucks - Cox, Sandilands, (Tippett, Keeffe)

Forwards - Rioli, Goodes, Riewoldt, Didak, Franklin, Darling, Tapscott (Krakouer, K. Harper, B. Matera)

Last week I was completely set on going Curnow > Swan and D. Swallow > Boyd. However, Suckling is now looking like he will be one of the top defenders this year, Swallow looks like he still has some money to make, Swan is possibly going to be even cheaper next week, and since my options for my 7th back are currently doing poorly and hurting my team, I was thinking of completing my backline this weekend, by going Lower > Suckling while he is still cheap, and keeping Heppell as my 7th back.

However, if I do that I'll be relying on Hibberd/Libba to play this week, and my team possibly won't score as well without both Swan and Boyd, which is a problem as my opponent this week is going to be difficult to beat, and getting Swan or Boyd next week might be difficult, although I was considering downgrading Tapscott/Matera to T. Lynch and then perhaps I could sacrifice Swallow or possibly Libba.

Thoughts?

Cheers guys.

If you got the cash - swan and boyd no question

I don't mind Boyd and Suckling here, get Lower out (I can see a 40+ point differential there) - tick and get Boyd in as a captain choice, I watched him play at Subi against Freo and he seems to relish the space - hoping for a 130+ this week from Boyd-dog. Can then get Swan next week for a few dollars less

if you can wait on swan this is a good move... swan still has some money to leak before he hits bottom price. just depends on whether you can wait on the points you miss out on vs he price dropping

Swan will drop, grab suckling with all your might. As for Boyd well not sure how he will pan out but if the stats hold up grab him for sure.

Cheers guys, 3 out of 4 comments support Boyd/Suckling, but 15/20 votes were for Swan/Boyd haha! The more I think about it though, the more I reckon Boyd/Suckling is the way to go. Next week I should have enough for Swan once I downgrade Tapscott or Matera to T. Lynch, and then probably get rid of one of the Swallow's...

Having a good captain choice is going to be important this weekend, but like you said Boyd could be a good choice there anyway... I guess it's all luck in the end :P

Swan/ boyd for sure, your backs are stronger than your mids imo.

Yeah exactly, I just thought that it might have been the best time to get Suckling, and that Swan would perhaps drop in price even more by next week. Ended up taking the safe option and going Swan/Boyd. Gotta be happy with the 119 I ended up getting from Lower! My opponent had a stacked backline but wasn't really any better off... he had almost 300 from his 3 bench players too haha! (Duigan/Laidler/Lower).

Hope both Boyd and Swan smash it today... my opponent went Selwood over Swan as captain, which is was bloody nervous about at half-time, thinking that he would smash a 150 or something... thankfully he finished like he did last week :)
