I'm considering letting one of these guys stay on as my final defence spot rather than let them go and waste a trade. Of these two, who would you trade out (I'll be bringing in Fisher for them)? Keep in mind, I have enough bench cover to cover Bruce until he gets back.

I haven't looked to see how long till bruceis back but if it isn't that long get rid of Duffield I know that have both been scoring poor this year but I can see bruce maybe turning that around. Can't say the same for Duffield

Ziplock

oh you poor barbie keeping the faith with these two.

I wouldn't want to bet on either. Duffield over bruce though.

Andrew

Keep Duffield, only because he's playing (and better fitness overall).

Where have the clowns who say "never sell a premium" gone? They were rife in these kind of threads just a few weeks ago..!  :P

I still believe in never trading a premium. But I also believe that players that used to be premium won't always be premium. Neither of these guys are premiums, so trade them out.
If you have to keep one, keep Duffield. Fremantle keep getting injuries and Duffield's roll may change again, which could only be for the better.

Ah ok, so you don't trade out premiums (ie. those valued 340k+ at the start), you just reclassify them as "showerhouse."

Yes, I guess that was the process I had with Duffield come to think of it  :P

I don't define a premium as those valued over 340k...

A premium player is one that will score/average highly enough in his position to be amongst the best and warrant being a starter for a good team. What they need to score varies with season.
I.e. For this season, it'd be 80+ for a back, 105+ for a mid, 100+ for a ruck and 90+ for a forward (or thereabouts).
Everything else (price, team, etc.) is irrelevant. As long as he is consistent enough and in his team's best 21 every week.

^ that's my theory with premiums and unproven players.

Premiums stop being premiums at some point, players become premium at some point, when you're 8 rounds in you have a pretty flowering good idea of which is which.

Does the opponents for both for the final 4 weeks of the season (finals) impact any of your thoughts? i.e. considering Hawthorn has Gold Coast for the final match.
