I know this is yesterdays news and I am extremely happy Jeff Gieschen (director of umpires across the board) put his foot down on players deliberately ducking their heads in order to win the free kick. This goes against protecting players heads at all times. Just a rhetorical question, why would players even consider putting their lives at risk for an extra kick and some what shot at goal over their own safety ?

I know it is a rhetorical question, but I doubt they think of it that way.

I just wish they looked at players dropping the knees to get an in the back as well. I think the in the backs being paid aren't at all in the spirit of the rule and penalise good tackles.

Bloody showers me to no end the players who play for it and get away with it.
