Wes Mantooth

Known as the Geelong Flyer. Sad day.

He was always one of my favourites on the morning football shows when I was younger because he was funny and didn't act like a douche footy player. RIP Bobby... sad news for the Geelong Footy Club.

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We will raise our glasses higher,
Peace be with you Bobbie,
Long live the "Geelong Flier'

The World of Sport will never be the same   ;)

Very nice Roost.

I reckon it would be difficult for anyone to dislike Bobby, he was quite simply, very likeable.

An abolsute legend of the club; not just for his playing and coaching career, but for his media career and in his later years as a great ambassdor for the club.

I loved that he was there to present the 2009 Premiership cup to the Cats and the photo with him celebrating with the club is great too.

Sad day for the club and for the AFL

I never met him. But he sounds like the kind of person that would make your life better for having known him. I did see him once, my student was making a right hand turn at a set of lights and I had to stop the car because another driver ran the red light....guess who. I should have let my student hit him, at least I would have got to meet him :)
