Captain vs. Captain

This is giving me the showers, and I'm sure there have been threads like this before, but if one captain choice scores 10 more than another, you didn't gain/lose 20 points, you only gained/lost 10. (The word "choice" implying you have both in your team).

Let's quickly look at the maths:
Captain A scores A points. Captain B scores B points.
If you put A as captain, you get:
2A + B points for the two players. (1)
If you put B as captain, you get:
2B + A points for the two players. (2)
Equation (1) minus equation (2):
A - B

In other words, the difference in points between making A your captain and B your captain, is the difference in their scores and NOT the difference doubled.

Yeh, I figured this out after the partial lockout ended and it was too late to keep Cox' score.

spot on not 50 like people seem to thing
cox captain=121+121+96=338
Swan Captain=96+96+121=313
so 338-313=25

If you don't put thought into it, the mistake is simple enough to make. Fortunately, as a maths nerd, it was a mistake I wasn't going to make :P

i think most of us couldnt be bothered to really do the math, and just auto-assume that you lost 50 points :)
