Use the captain loophole. Make Joey VC and Pendlebury captain.
If Joey scores well, put the C on a non-playing player and make sure you have an emergency. If Joey spuds it up, leave the C on Pendles. What score is "good enough" is entirely up to your judgement, but I'd say Pendlebury will surely score 110+.
