First time in Supercoach, unsure about trades.

So this is my first season ever doing SuperCoach, and setting my team up was fine enough, but I'm not really sure whether I should be trading yet and who I should be trading. So far my team looks like this -

Backs:
Gibbs, Broughton, Goddard, Grimes, Duigan, Gilbee, N Lower, (Otten, Tape, Puopolo)

Mids:
Swan, Pendlebury, Curnow, Heppell, Montagna, Liberatore, (D Swallow, D Harris, Conca)

Rucks:
Cox, Sandilands (Z Smith, Derickx - i know, bad choice)

Forwards:
Franklin, Pavlich, Darling, Higgins, Riewoldt, Green, Krakouer (Matera, Gamble, Tapscott)

I'm concerned that some of my bench players (ie Puopolo, Derickx, Gamble) aren't going to do much this year, and some of my forwards are blowing hard (krakouer/green). Is it too early for me to be worrying about trading some of these players? Or is there some bargains I should get now before it's too late?

Your backline looks ok, id probably have offloaded Puopolo by now to maybe Toy or someone like that but thats ok no stress.

Your midfield is quite solid, good to see the three prems and the rest rookies in play again. Id just leave that alone for a while until the likes of Harris has made money and then bring in a few more prems for the others.

Rucks are like most, pretty standard. And it wasn't that bad a choice at the start of the season.

Forwards well Green is a problem but if your going for the league then you can at least have another week to think about it (Melbourne bye). Also on Green, I am trading him this week but only to avoid a zero and get 70k on J Roo. I always say back your picks, so maybe in this case you should stick with Green. Gamble wasn't a great pick but wait to see the Saints team tonight before making any decisions.

Personally id hold off for another week, Green is going no where in price and I don't think you have to rush to get anybody in. Your trades are like gold, come end of the season you will need them. Thats my opinion anyway.

IMO one trade I would consider is Conca to Prestia because at the moment you have no MPP link from mids to forwards and Prestia will give that link eg when Collingwood has bye it will allow you to move Pavlich or Higgins back to the midfield if your bench is not strong enough to cover Swan and Pendles. Not necessary to do this week but in future as both players have low BE's this week.

I am only a second year player so am sharing with you. Last year I finished at around 150,000 due to non effective trading but this year currentky ranked 13307 with a goal to break into the top 10k. The one error that you have made is in Rounds 2 -3 look at which Rookies are scoring well and then trade into your team before their prioce rise to maximise later trade values using a maximum of 3 -4 trades. At the moment i am sitting on 19 trades due to 2 forced trades due to injury Brown and Hayes but I use dthe other 3 trades to trade in Liba, Darling and Tapscott in Rounds 2 & 3. Remember with trades you only get 2 per round so you need to devellop your strategy now on how to use effectively. With rookie upgrades unless it is a straight swap with cash in hand it usually involves a double trade eg Downgrade Curnow to a low priced rookie still at around 100k eg Talia and then upgrade another midfield player to a premium eg Mundy. With Rookies the ideal time to trade is when there average score is their break even score as they would have reached their full potential price.

If you are not in the top 8 of your league at the moment I would be considering a trade for Green and also possibly Gamble IMO Do not worry to much about Deerick at this stage as 4th Ruck is basically covering any injury during byes when using Smith and not losing anything at the moment.

i would trade green ofr a running backman like yarran or josh hill
they both have good averages and are getting alot of ball

Green's one I'm really torn on - he SHOULD get better, but, who do I trade him for? Gamble seems to have been a spud of a deal, but I'm worried that by getting Prestia I'll have too much Gold Coast in the side for my own good. If I add him, it'll be up to 6 Gold Coast players.

I'm currently ranked 8,518 - I haven't been doing poorly by any stretch, but those are my two big worries. Puopolo gives me some cause for concern but I can't really see anyone I'd want to bring in for him at the moment. Any ideas?

Yarran is a possibility as well to get in for Green but will most probably av the same in the end.

Keep green but the one trade I would do is trade Gamble for Petrie before he has a price rise then maybe trade Derickx for J Tippet from the gc just for his mpp with Petrie in the forward line
