i never had any desire to go for overall (dont get me wrong, i'd like 50k), i was all about winning leagues.

however my team is looking ok and i'm ranked ~2000 or so. is it worth having a crack from here, or would i need to be top 300 or thereabouts to consider having a real tilt?

I dont think its out of the question, its a long season, if your team performs during the multi-bye rounds ud have a better idea then of where you stand

If your in a average/casual league, you should be winnning them anyway, if you are going for overall.

Its only towards the end of the season, where you might think about having a 'crack' by taking risks or sideways trade to squeeze every last point of your team.

i think anyone in the top 10 000 still has a chance... i was looking through the top teams last night and most have alot of outs this week.... so i just depends.. one huge score can make you jump a few 100 spots... i am ranked 1800 atm, im looking for a top 500 finish...oh and a bit of luck wouldnt hurt either ;)

do you have a stock standard side or do you have some uniques ?

see how the side goes over the bye rounds wrt overall. if you are making spots up then it is well worth it.

you just need to do the right trades at the right times

And have a bit of luck on your side :)
